Let's not forget the icing on the cake. Green having Cunningham taking knees at the end of regulation, Vikes lose the coin toss, Falcons kick a FG without the Vikes touching the ball in OT.

Kinda reminds me of the NFLCG with the vikings at NYG. It was 14-0 before the vikings offense took the field. The final score there was 41-0. That Falcons game where Gary Anderson kicks the ball wide left( the first time he had missed, all year) and then Morton Andersen boots the game winner, for Atlanta; Favre throwing the INT to the Saints defender; the Phillies NFCCG where my favorite clock time was 6:22( read as 38 to 7). Those memories warm my heart! More purple suckage, to come, folks!!! SKOL!!!

BTW, wasn't the QB Culpepper, not Cunningham??? It doesn't really matter, I guess, the outcome was what was important.

Rodgers is no dummy.  He understands the business and the timeline.  I think he does one of two things...  He either retires or agrees to play elsewhere.  I say "agrees" because he can just retire if he doesn't want to play for "Team X."

My prediction, which is subject to change in less than 10 minutes:

Rodgers agrees to a trade but it won't be LV or NYJ.  It will be somewhere like Tennessee or Miami.  The compensation will not include a 1st round pick.

If he goes to Miami I’m thinking it will be a first round pick, but in 2024 with a mid-round pick this year. Rodgers to Waddle and Hill would likely be a pinball machine and that defense is solid. They could win the division outright even with Buffalo there. They were leading it with pre-concussions Tua this season.

I tend to agree with Pakrz.  I'm sure there are some teams that would give up a 1st for AR, thinking they are close to a Super Bowl.  However, you have to think that he's only a year to year player at this point.  Brady playing until he's 45 is the anomaly.  Also, other GMs must know/think that GB is ready to move on so it's more likely they can get AR for less than a 1st.

As Packer fans/owners, we often forget that the other owners are all about the benjamins. And a lot of those owners need to fill seats, sell merch and rally their fan bases.

Winning an SB surely would help - but adding Aaron Rodgers addresses all of the other needs in one easy move. They also get the media circus that comes with AR and there's no such thing as bad publicity when your revenue model is based on fan engagement & enragement.

It was Cunningham but I was wrong about OT. The Vikings won the coin toss and had possession twice, both resulting in punts. The beauty of the Anderson miss is that it would have given the Vikes a 10 point lead with 2 minutes left in regulation.  Instead the Vike's defense had to win the game and didn't. A whole lot of choking going on.

The value of Rodgers is whatever anybody will offer. He's worth a lot to a team that thinks they are a QB away from winning it all and worth nothing to probably 25 teams or more. But it still comes down to what Rodgers will accept as a destination. Other than the Jets I don't really see a team that will give up much for him.

Aaron Rodgers is going on a darkness retreat. So I did, too.

If we are to believe Aaron Rodgers, then he is either close to entering his isolation retreat, or he’s already there. And if Rodgers, an overthinker who sometimes plays quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, can spend four days and nights sitting alone with his thoughts in complete darkness, then certainly I can manage one hour of seclusion inside a Washington Post photography studio.

When Rodgers, while on a retreat from the playoffs, announced on β€œThe Pat McAfee Show” that he would be going away to a remote place with no phone, no schedule and especially no light β€” just him, his thoughts and the darkness β€” he got me thinking. Rodgers said he’s going dark because he wants β€œto be able to contemplate all things [about] my future.” Some pretty important life decisions, such as whether he will return to Green Bay, find a new team or just retire. Well, I have stuff to contemplate, too: What should I eat for dinner tonight? Why are D.C. speed cameras out to get me? Shouldn’t I be devoting this space to Eric Bieniemy instead?

So maybe I, too, need to get weird on a February afternoon and escape to the deep, dark shadows in my mind. I switch my phone to β€œDo Not Disturb” and search for what I hope to be the darkest room in the building: a photo studio. Our outstanding photo editor, Toni Sandys, swipes me in and seems a little bit too giddy to hit the light switch and close the door as I settle in on the couch.

Then it begins, my time in the darkness. Rodgers has the entire NFL world waiting on his decision (again). I have my editor, Dan Steinberg, waiting on me to turn in my copy (just like always, Steinz). So yeah, me and A-Rod are pretty much the same here: sitting in the dark, testing the limits of others’ patience and trying to attain a higher level of consciousness.

What exactly does Eric Bieniemy need to do to get a head coaching job?

One minute in, and I’m trying hard not to take a nap and call it β€œwork.” Rodgers is probably thinking big, deep thoughts, so I should as well. I just can’t stop yawning. When a lion roars silently, do people think it’s yawning? And what if someone goes on a safari, confuses a lion with some cute, tired jungle cat deep in a yawn and goes up to pet it? But really the lion has lost its voice and is saying: β€œGraaaaaaarrr! Run for your life! I’m about to eat you!”

Woah. Deep.

Oh, right! Darkness. I forgot. Back to the darkness.

Five minutes in now and still no hallucinations. According to darkness retreaters β€” people who possess so much discretionary income that they paid actual money to trip out while huddled in a space the size of a dorm room β€” this experience may produce illusions. Far-out stuff like, say, a vision of Rodgers hoisting a second Lombardi trophy. One guy said he saw people dancing on the ceiling, which, when you think about it, may not be as cool as Lionel Richie makes it sound. Another woman said in her hallucination she saw Bill Gates and a team of scientists examining her organs. You would think the sixth-richest man in the world could afford his own bunker.

Now I wonder whom Rodgers will encounter in his room. Maybe his favorite former receiver, Davante Adams, catching touchdowns on the ceiling? Perhaps Anthony Fauci and a team of virologists patiently explaining to him the importance of vaccines?

And now a random but not so deep thought: Wouldn’t it be great to see what Green Bay backup Jordan Love can do as a starting quarterback? Every offseason that Rodgers decides to hold the Packers hostage β€” immobilizing the franchise until he finally makes up his mind β€” he further delays his understudy’s development. Whenever Rodgers leaves, Love, whom the Packers drafted 26th overall in 2020, will be next in line. But the Packers need the 39-year-old Rodgers to leave already. So don’t blame Love if he’s hoping that Rodgers gets lost in the dark and can’t find his way back to Lambeau Field.

Thirty minutes down, and this couch is so comfortable. Time for that nap. Pardon me, Mr. Gates, would you please stop staring at my liver?

I can’t believe they’re paying me for this.

I can’t believe we’re really paying attention to this man.

The Jets and Raiders desperately want to be relevant.  Winning the Super Bowl really isn’t the objective;  they just want to be in the conversation and adding Rodgers will absolutely accomplish that goal.

The storyline for either team would be a lot of fun.  The AFC East or AFC West all of a sudden becomes way more interesting if 12 is added to the mix.

As for draft compensation, what’s their 1st rounder and another 2nd or 3rd worth to add Rodgers?  The picks mean nothing to the Raiders or Jets.   If I’m GB that’s the asking price if not more - assuming 12 is committed to 2 years.

I think Woody Johnson wants the Jets to be more than relevant. He desperately wants to join that winners club. I've actually been around quite a few rich people and one thing I noticed is once you're filthy rich it's all about winning and not the money. I think Woody is at that point. The Raiders are completely different than the Jets in that I don't think they, especially McDaniel, want Rodgers as badly as many people think. Rodgers puts McDaniel in a "win now" situation and if he doesn't his HC career could be finished since he also failed in Denver so badly.  McDaniel has that "my way or the highway" mentality and Rogers has too much ego for him.

The only thing I can take out of this article is why does a newspaper have a photo studio and why a couch would be in it?

The year is 2023.

The earth is decimated following a global invasion. Every accomplishment made by humanity falls flat in the face of a superior opponent. Decimated buildings are all that remains of mankind’s hubris.

A door opens, revealing a disheveled man emerging from total darkness. Aaron Rodgers looks at the ruined skyline, falls to his knees, and weeps. In what will be humanity’s final words, Rodgers announces to the void that he’ll retire from professional football.

Yes I'm sure those picks mean nothing to the Jets who had both the Offensive and Defensive rookies of the year this year.

I'm still of the opinion that we do not get a 1st for Rodgers.  Best case is trading firsts.  A 2nd this year and a 3rd that could turn into a 1st in '24 I think is the most realistic scenario.

Fans are going to be disappointed by what we get for AR.  Remember we only got a 4th for Favre who was coming off an NFCCG and was a year younger than AR is now.

Bunch of fuckin bullshit....

I didn’t even bother watching it because I knew it was all this.

When did DocBenni move to Tomah?

As to Rodger's trade value let's wait till the power comes back on and our associate GM decides if we're worthy of his jeenyous and tallant.

Last, teams do dum all the time.  From a storied franchise that traded away the future for Hadl to a team with an open Super Bowl cabinet trading away all their picks for a tired running back that thought he knew a joke about mating habits of cows.

Have a great day and let there be light!

The Jets have a pretty impressive (recent) history of whiffing on QBs.

Bryce Petty, 103rd pick overall, 2015.

Christian Hackenberg, 51st pick overall, 2016.

Sam Darnold, 3rd pick overall, 2018.

James Morgan, 125th pick overall, 2020

Zach Wilson, 2nd pick overall, 2021.

So in basically the last 7 years they’ve spent two top 5 picks, a 2nd rounder, and two 4th round picks on QBs and none of them were worth a shit.

You think they care about giving up the 13th overall pick and a 2nd or 3rd for Rodgers?   Hell no.
