Something else crazy about that passing TD list - Brady could end up being the passing TD leader for two teams.  He's only 44 away.  Stafford has a shot too - he's only 128 TDs away from being the Rams leader.

Things are going well between the Packer and Rodgers right now........but that could all change if they lose another NFCC game, don't resign Adams in free agency, cut good players for financial reasons, then struggle to bring any significant free agents due to the cap situation.  Or they win the Super Bowl, Adams comes back, and they keep things rolling into 2022.  Can't wait to find out!

Agree that the relationship between Rodgers and Gute has improved quite a bit.  Rodgers deserves to have his voice heard and it appears that has happened this season.

I see little chance that Rodgers retires.  He loves the game and is playing at a ridiculous level.

If I had to guess, I'd say that Rodgers signs a cap-friendly extension that creates enough space to resign guys like Adams and keep this thing together.  Anything else seems idiotic at this point.

WTFWFT.  I saw every one of those QB's play NFL games on live TV except Sammy Baugh and Sid Luckman.  And I was really young when I watched Sonny Jorgenson play for the (then) Redskins.

I guess I’m alone on this, but I thought Rodgers on McAfee this week was one of his better ones. The COVID discussion didn’t bother me. You’re blind if you don’t think it’s a relevant topic to continue discussing in today’s NFL. Just look at the list of players and how the NFL protocols have become fluid. Should the show just ignore it?

As far as Rodger’s comments on it, I agree 400% that there needs to be more discourse on the topic. Shit, there needs to be more discourse on thousands of other things in our pathetic politically divided society. I personally do not agree with with Rodgers personal choice, but I’d be an ignorant prick like it seems a majority of society has become if I didn’t actually continue listening and educating myself on what the opposing viewpoint is.
I’m trying very hard (no pun intended) to wash balls here, but what I heard this week from Rodgers on the McAfee show regarding societal behavior surrounding this pandemic was some of the more refreshing discourse I’ve heard from an athlete. Like I said, I may not agree with his own personal decisions, but the way in which he stated how our society needs to handle all of this made more sense, and was verbalized in a way that I agree with full heartedly. I wish more people thought that way.

From Cliff Christl book on the definitive book on Packer history:   "Packers fans attending the team's draft party in the Lambeau Field Atrium booed the announcement so loudly that club officials could hear them upstairs in their war room. "The two most controversial things (with fans) when I was there was when we traded for Brett Favre and when we drafted Aaron Rodgers," Bob Harlan, who served as team president from 1989 to 2008 and worked for the Packers for 37 years in all, said in an interview only months before the book was printed."

By that standard we should do very well with Jordan Love when that time comes.  Everyone thought we had other needs.

Starr had more humility and grace than the other two put together.

I wouldn't want to spend any time with Favre or Rodgers outside of watching them play football. I love watching them play football the same way I loved watching Michael Jordan play basketball, Tiger Woods play golf, or Usain Bolt run the 100. All of those guys were egomaniacal jerks off the field, but there is just something about watching an athlete operating at that level that is almost transcendent (Favre in 1995-1998, Rodgers for many years, Jordan in his Bulls career, and Tiger until about 2008).

Unfortunately 99.9% of us will never sit down a meet  β€œthese people” so we can be able to accurately form a legit opinion on them. All we have is what we see in the media, read about, or hear from others. That’s why sometimes I have to remind myself what sports are, entertainment and nothing more.

I will say this, and then I’m done expressing my otherwise useless opinions on the topic…. Taking everything I said above into account, I do legitimately sense that AR is trying to use his platform in life to at least push the needle on social change when it comes to all of this COVID related stuff. Maybe he should just fuck off and stay in his own lane, but for whatever demented reason one might choose to listen to him (wife talk), I think his main point here makes perfect sense.

We need to have a conversation. I think not being open to talking to the β€œother side” leads to ignorance, which in my opinion culminates in stupidity.

AR continues to peddle misinformation on Covid that ranges from just ridiculous to potentially dangerous and I'd wish he'd just stick to football. McAfee also hasn't received near enough scrutiny for allowing it without any real pushback. If AR really believes what he's saying he needs to do some actual interviews rather than sticking with a forum where he's knows he won't be challenged.

Macafees show yesterday Peter Schrager commented on Hacketts history in Jacksonville and Macafee started speculating about AR and Davante following him there.  He laughed and said something about Trevor Lawrence traded to Green Bay? Of course if that was to happen the heads of  the Vikings, Bears, Lions, and other NFC fans would explode.

I would do that in a HOTTT minute.  trevor is going to be real good.

AR engages in armchair science like we do armchair football, but armchair science has more real consequences.

It is the old "I have to try to prove I am the smartest guy in the room syndrome", which has always been AR's kryptonite. Yes, his 1350 SAT score makes him a genius in an NFL locker room, but "below average" in the highest levels of science.
