It is the old "I have to try to prove I am the smartest guy in the room syndrome", which has always been AR's kryptonite. Yes, his 1350 SAT score makes him a genius in an NFL locker room, but "below average" in the highest levels of science.

Fuck, I had a higher score and I'm no fucking genius. On the topic of COVID he sounds like the dumbest guy in the room.

This is from the current Peter King column, it has been all the rage on  Denver radio today.  The Bronco rubes are all in with it.

3. I think I would love to see Aaron Rodgers, who was so happy and content and grateful Saturday after the 24-22 win over Cleveland, stay in Green Bay in 2022 and be a lifelong Packer. But more than that, Rodgers has kept his word, from what he told me and others during training camp. He promised to be where his feet are. He said he told his teammates when he reported to camp after his long time away in the offseason to live in the momentβ€”no use in thinking about the future, which is out of everyone’s control. This is a media-crazed league, and it’s clear Rodgers has practiced all season what he preached when he got to camp last summer. He sounds like a man who loves where he is.

4. I think, having said that, I have no idea what Rodgers thinks deep down inside. And if, as it turns out, he decides he wants to leave after this season, this might be a Rodgers idea for a deal after the season:

a. Say Denver loses three of the last four to finish 8-9. Vic Fangio, with his third sub-.500 year in three seasons as coach, could be replaced with Green Bay offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

b. Denver could use a good chunk of its $49 million in 2022 cap space to reach a long-term agreement with free-agent wide receiver Davante Adams of the Packers.

c. Denver could trade first- and fourth-round picks in 2022 and a first-round pick in 2023, plus wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, to Green Bay for Rodgers.

Notes: Deal would leave Denver with no first- or fourth-round picks next year, but two picks in each of the second and third rounds … Deal would leave Denver with Adams, Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick as a legitimate 1-2-3 at wideout … If Rodgers leaves after this season, Green Bay would get significant compensation. If Rodgers stays one more year, he would be an unrestricted free-agent in 2023 and the Packers’ only compensation would be a compensatory third-round pick in 2023 … If Rodgers, as expected, would sign an extension in Denver, his receiver group of Adams, Sutton and Patrick would be with him for three years at least, through the end of the 2024 seasonβ€”when Rodgers would be 41 years old.

Ben Ben said this week is most likely his last home game as Pittsburgh Steeler. So that is another potential spot. Rodgers likes the organization and head coach.
AFC N Has Baltimore, Cincinnati and Cleveland. AFC W has KC, LA chargers and Las Vegas.
Doubt GB would trade him to SF or New Orleans.
He may retire too, especially if he wins another Super Bowl in GB, all speculation at this point

AR continues to peddle misinformation on Covid that ranges from just ridiculous to potentially dangerous and I'd wish he'd just stick to football. McAfee also hasn't received near enough scrutiny for allowing it without any real pushback. If AR really believes what he's saying he needs to do some actual interviews rather than sticking with a forum where he's knows he won't be challenged.

McAfee just got a 120 million dollar deal over 4 years for his radio program. The weekly Rodgers "interviews" contributed to that.

agree with Ammo that it is pretty light.  Stafford gets you two firsts, a third and a washed out former first.

Stafford trade isn't a great comparison. They gave the Lions more for taking Goff's contract than they would have for just trading picks for Stafford.

But there's no way the Broncos would get a two time defending NFL MVP for a couple of 1st round picks. I guess Jeudy makes it 3 1st round picks but I don't think there has been an NFL trade that would really compare this this one.

PIT is in the middle of a rebuild and needs new OL and DL.  I don't think that's ideal for a 40yr old QB.

People might make the case for a Denver or New Orleans or Pittsburgh, but at this point I think the prevailing issue might be whether or not Rodgers finishes his career throwing to Adams. I think they're a package deal.

Is Adams willing to go play with a Derek Carr, who he's tight with, if it means less team success? Is a 38 yr old Rodgers cool with watching his on-field soulmate walk away? Is chasing a ring without Davante at his side enough for him to start over elsewhere or even in GB?

I don't have a clue if GB could feasibly keep them both in the fold, or if they'll even be willing to seriously try.The place that makes the most sense is GB, but I believe 12 and 17 will be considering each other's destinations equally as much as they consider their own. Both seem to have a very good grasp on the fact that greatness has a value equal or more important to earnings and individual accomplishments. I just can't see a landing spot that gives either guy a better situation than the one they currently occupy.

This kind of speculation is getting old.  No  sources, just pure guessing by King.  Sports reporting is total garbage now, just mock drafts and mock trades based on nothing.

Oh and Denver sports radio?  Jumping over themselves at that trade, laughing that they could get Rodgers so easy.  And Adams?  Totally ignores that he will likely be franchised then maybe traded.  King has been mailing it in for years.

Carson Palmer may not be in Vegas next year. Rumors have it they want someoone else. If AR leaves GB maybe Palmer signs with Packers and Davante Stays...

Carson Palmer? "42 year old, retired at the end of 2017 Carson Palmer" is gonna sign with the Packers instead of the Raiders? You're saying a guy that hasn't played a down since the middle of the 2017 season was going to the Raiders? Maybe? Because they might want someone else?

And you think signing Carson Palmer will convince Adams to stay?

You drinking nuclear waste tonight or?

Just catching up, but didn't see it pointed out before: anyone else amazed that between Favre and Rodgers the total is 885 and it's back-to-back? Not only is the total between them blowing all the other organizations out of the water, but it's incredible that their careers and all those TDs are one after the other. It's been 30+ years of HOF QB play. GB fans are spoiled rotten, and we love it!

Chart

There is zero chance that Rodgers ends up in Jacksonville.  I don’t care if Jax adds Alex Van Pelt and Jake Kumerow and they hire Joe Rogan as strength and conditioning coach there is no way that’s happening.

Realistically, if a deal is to be made it’s Denver or Pittsburgh.   Denver has more assets to return back in a deal, but who is the coach?   That’s not a slam dunk.   But if Denver offered 2 1s and a couple of 2s and Jeudy or 2 1s and Jeudy and Fant or Jeudy and Surtain I think you’d have to seriously listen.  Denver has some decent younger players under contract for a few years that would be appealing along with the picks.

As for the Steelers, yes they have Tomlin who AR adores, but that roster isn’t that great and who would Pittsburgh send back in return?   It’s not a great roster and the picks aren’t all that appealing either.

The best and most logical trade partner would be SF but I highly doubt the Packers trade him within the NFC.

From a fit and roster and winning standpoint, the Packers are still his best option if he wants to stay.  I also think if Rodgers decides to stay that it makes it very likely that Adams stays as well.

As things stand right now there is no way the Packers could franchise Adams. 40 million over the cap and the 2020 franchise tag for a WR was about $16 million.

All of this will get sorted out fairly quickly in February. Gotta get the cap straightened out before the start of the new league year in March.

sorry, Derek Carr. I have Covid Brain where everything is a little foggy. However I must say I was a little disoriented prior to Covid so there is that. Maybe I should have kept my Antibodies injection apt yesterday insteal of cancelling it.

What an idea. IF we get Carr, we could be the only team in NFL history to have TWO guys from Bakersfield as QBs.
