I made it to this last thanksgiving before finally getting it.  That was with two 5 year olds in the house, going to different day cares and public schools over the last 36 months.  Thought I might be some kind of immune system unicorn then came down with the classic symptoms.  It had been 6 months since my last booster and it was not mild, it sucked.

Pretty sure my time is coming.😊

To me it sounded more like he was being disingenuous. It’s technically not a lie. Sorta like what I hear from Washington. I believe that I read somewhere that he was ready to to explain why he did not want Covid shot (some body type reactions fears). But nobody followed up so he thankfully left it. That blew up when he actually caught it later.

A well thought out deception of the truth.

β€œI’d been ready the entire time for this question, and had thought about how I wanted to answer it,” Rodgers told Rogan, via USA Today’s Steve Gardner. β€œAnd I had come to the conclusion I’m gonna say, β€˜I’ve been immunized.’ And if there’s a follow-up, then talk about my process.”

β€œBut, [I] thought there’s a possibility that I say β€˜I’m immunized,’ maybe they understand what that means, maybe they don’t. Maybe they follow up. They didn’t follow up. So then I go the season them thinking, some of them, that I was vaccinated.”

Kinda like if your spouse asked you if you were cheating and you said, I didn't sleep with anyone and if there is a follow up then talk about my process.

Jennings makes a pretty valid point at 6:00 in.

The Rodgers 90% leaning towards retirement was just a backhanded swipe at the Packers. He just wanted to make it look like he was going to retire if he had to play for the Packers but now with the Jets in the picture he's 100% onboard to play. He DIVAed himself right into a corner where his mouth is holding up the trade.

Let's stay in the football world. Thx

If you don’t like the analogy-fine bit my comment pertains to his personality, honesty and behavior as a member of our team

He thought out exactly how he meant to deceive everyone.   He was a representative of the Packers.   Many people told me how disgusted they were about this.    It reflected on our team and β€œis” although not Xs and Os is still part of the football world.

And he CHOCKED multiple times in playoff games although he’d never admit it.

Retiring is the least damaging option for GB, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a passive aggressive twist of the knife. The problem is that he outsmarted himself by contradicting his own words within the same interview. On one hand, it's human nature to exclude points in making an argument that don't suit our case. On the other, as someone who lives for choosing his words so carefully, it's almost amateurish in the way he revealed the hypocrisy.

The latest conditions the Jets are trying to include in this trade are BS if they are true. No way the Packers should give back anything depending whether Rodgers plays in 2024. The Jets are picking up a contract that says Rodgers will play and it's their problem if he doesn't. If he doesn't play in 2024 it will because the Jets suck in 2023 and he doesn't want to play for them. It has nothing to do with the Packers.                                                                                                                                          Team success is another nonstarter. Rodgers could play great and the Jets could lose because of other reasons. I read somewhere that Saleh lost two games last year with bad clock management. No way the Packers compensation should be tied to the success of a team that hasn't even been in the playoffs in a decade.

As we've discussed, I think Rodgers biggest problem the last few years is that he doesn't have anyone around him that's a "real" friend to tell him when he's being an idiot or a douchebag. For many of us, that's our spouse, a sibling, or a parent. He doesn't talk to any family members and he doesn't seem to have a lot of close friends. It's not clear whether Cobb is a close friend, or just a guy from work he can hang around with a little bit. But that's the only guy I can think of that might fit that category.

The best example of this I can think of were the discussions about Michael Jordan's acceptance speech for the NBA HOF. It was cringeworthy in that he called out everyone who had ever slighted him and even told his kids that it must suck to be them because they'd never be as good as he was. I remember reading columns with people who knew him saying that if his father had been alive he'd have never given that type of speech because he'd have told him he came across as a dick. They even mentioned that his first wife (who he cheated on constantly but who he listened to on other things) would have quashed it as well. By the time he was inducted into the HOF, he had the young trophy wife and his father was dead.

I think that's essentially where Arod is now - surrounded by yes man and he's always had the "everyone's against me" attitude.

This is a very important role and too many posters at X4 don't have that friend

Hey - Maybe I could be that friend ?

Where shall I begin ? Its a lengthy list, but I'm accepting nominations via PM

I'm guessing the only guy like that in his circle is AJ Hawk.  AJ is the only guy who seems to call out Rodgers on some of his shit (that we see).  AJ is the only reason we know Rodgers whole "they didn't tell me they were moving on after the season" was BS cuz AJ was the one guy to call him out on it.

Latest:

Two insiders are confident that the trade sending Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets will get done before the 2023 NFL draft.

Albert Breer of SI.com reported the deal could get done this week and will β€œcertainly” be done before the draft.

Dan Graziano of ESPN reported that much of the deal is already β€œdone,” and a trade that doesn’t include the Jets’ 2023 first-rounder will be finished before the draft.

The first round of the 2023 draft begins on Thursday, April 27, giving the Packers and Jets exactly four weeks – or roughly a month – to complete the deal.

Graziano heard from multiple sources that the Packers are not dead set on getting the 13th overall pick in the trade, which aligns with what Gutekunst said in Phoenix earlier this week.

The Packers still believe Rodgers is a premier player and are attempting to get maximum compensation in return, even if a first-round pick in 2023 isn’t involved. It’s looking more and more likely that a second-round pick in 2023 and conditional picks in 2024 and even 2025 will be involved in the final deal.

The above sources are stating GB get's one of the Jets 2nd rounders this year. They get an additional 2nd that can become a 1st if Rodgers plays in 2024, it becomes a first based on performance.

The "sticking" point is the Jets want a 2024 3rd in return if Rodgers hangs it up in 2024. Which many believe is unlikely that he would retire. Most think he plays at least 2 years with the Jets.

March 6th seems to be the date that Rodgers said he was willing to go to the Jets or in other words 24 days ago.  We have added 53 pages to the thread since then.  If we stay at the same rate that gets us to 228 pages by draft day.   I say we can do it.
