I mentioned the Niners a few weeks ago when the Jets started dragging their feet. Niners need a QB in a big way.  I see no reason not to trade Rodgers to an NFC team. It's not like who gets Rodgers will be the only roadblock of the Packers SB ambitions and no team is going to trade for Rodgers unless they think he puts them over the hump.

The Jets deserve to lose out on Rodgers for not quickly taking the deal the Packers offered. I wouldn't mind the Jets losing out on Rodgers and winning 6 games next season. Then let them revisit which team had the leverage.

Could we send Lynch a nice little "thinking of you" Hallmark card with a couple bucks in it to help encourage him to pull the trigger on Rodgers? We aren't winning the Owl next season, Rodgers may as well play a year or two for his childhood team, and at this point I'd rather 49ers second rounder than Jets second rounder. Do the 49ers have a second?

I wouldn't mind this deal:

Jets receive: Aaron Rodgers, #78 (for future conditional picks)

Packers receive: #42, #43, 2024 conditional (3rd, up to a first), 2025 conditional (nothing if he doesn't play in 2024, up to a third if they win the Super Bowl in 2024).

Maybe throw out a 7 after every season he plays afterwards in case he goes Brady, but that's a little much.

The Jets still have picks to work around Rodgers, increasing the chance for better conditional picks.  Plus Gutekunst loses the chance to mess up another third-round pick this year and likely has a higher extra pick to work with next year.

I don't think any pick should be conditional on team performance. The only condition should be if Rodgers shows up to training camp. They can cut him, he can get injured, I don't care, That counts as playing the season. They screwed us in the Favre trade by releasing him so he could sign with the Vikes. Had they traded him we were to get 3 #1 picks so they knew what that move meant to the Packer organization.
