MVS gets a bad rap.  He was the last pick in R5 in the 2018 draft.   He’s basically a 35-40 catch guy but his career average per catch is over 17 yards.   Should they have offered him the same deal as KC?   Probably not.  But for what they gave up in draft capital he was an effective deep threat.

Rodgers didn’t seem to have concerns throwing to Doubs before he got hurt, and he’s good throwing to Watson since he got healthy.   The issue this year is when Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard have 25% of your total receptions as a team that tells you the WR room either isn’t very good or they can’t get on the field.   Doubs and Watson missed multiple games and when those two guys aren’t playing there isn’t a whole lot of speed and athleticism within that group.   Lazard is a similar but obviously slower version of MVS.   His production is pretty decent given draft status but he’s not a 1 or a 2.

Adams was so damn good it’s hard to replace him given his production was like having 1 dominant #1 receiver and a very solid #3 receiver but he’s one guy.   He’s on pace for 100 catches, 1,500 yards and 15 TDs this year at almost 15 yards per catch this year with David Carr throwing him the ball.

Right now Doubs is 8th and Watson 14th for rookie WRs in receptions although they have played 3-5 games less than all of the WRs ranked 1-7.....

But 31 other teams didn’t enter the season with Lazard as their number one WR.  Other teams had better options to throw the ball to so they didn’t have to rely so much on rookies.

Funny, there was no problem with his MO the 1st 15 years of his playing career. NOW, its a problem. LOL

And people change, especially when they get put in a position of power.  And I'd bet there was a problem with this MO for the first 15 years for a lot of people, just never got out of the building b/c they were winning at an adequate level.  Maybe if he was more willing to help young WRs, he'd have more than one Super Bowl appearance.

Let's see how these last 4 games go. The offense has been pretty good in the last 4 games ( I think I read 6th in scoring?), coinciding with injuries to o-line and WRs lessening.

And if he wins all 4 games or the D screws the pooch like Indy did and its not his fault. Or if he plays like he CAN most time and or (Dream) gets us in the playoffs we will all (some of us) feel bad for this tread. Fingers crossed here!

Blair I will be wearing my # 12 jersey for good luck.

Seriously? Up until this year he had veteran receivers. Maybe those rookie receivers that were here could have been used on defense to give him a chance to win a game or five.

Shocking, an article written about AR is "absolute complete horseshit."

Watched that tonight. Was pretty interesting to find out that Jordan Love (allegedly) comes up with the hand signals and runs the meetings when they are discussed. A job that Rodgers had when he was backing up TOG.

And supposedly these hand signals are used during training camp and practices during the season. He said they might keep dudes who are on the bubble out of these meetings in case they are released and end up on another team. That might explain the comments from Amari and Sternberger. They very well could have been excluded as they worked their way to the bubble of the roster.

This is on MLF.

In his presser when it was brought up he said it was only the 40ish minute post-practice Wednesday meeting. So one meeting out of all the other meetings throughout the week were not everyone in a room - just like previous seasons - and that is the reason for the offense struggling. I'm buying that about as much as I buy the OTA thing as a reason for the offense struggling into November.

It takes time for rookie receivers to develop. And when one of them misses all of preseason due to injury and then multiple games during the regular season - then the other guy misses a month while the first guy starts to get on track.

And with Cobb missing 4 games (plus most of a 5th), Amari Rodgers being unplayable at WR, and Sammy Watkins being Sammy Watkins, it makes the situation even worse.

The o-line being a mess was also a big part of it. You had guys playing out-of-position, guys coming off injury & not playing well, and guys playing who haven't seen the field since (for good reason).

All the hand signal stuff was so last week.

GB is falling behind yet again - if you think that we should still emulate the "Patriot Way".  BB has figured out a way to get his QB to be accused of being a "dirty" player.  Of course if AR did what the Patriot QB did, he would be in the hospital.  But that aside, GB doesn't have anything like that.  Maybe this year Gute should draft someone at the QB position that can handle that role if AR stays.

From Pat M today, the man in the no

Typically on Tuesday afternoons, the Packers quarterback joins the Pat McAfee Show to discuss what’s going on around the league. However, Tuesday’s appearance was canceled as the 39-year-old is set to meet with the team, although the reason for the meetings is unknown at this time.

“There will be no Aaron Rodgers Tuesday today, that’s because Aaron Rodgers is meeting with the Packers today and tomorrow,” McAfee said. “These are said to be lengthy meetings. We don’t know what’s going to come from them, but what we do know is next week, Aaron Rodgers Tuesday live and in action. ... So, I think we’re going to have a lot of answers for what the future looks like after the next couple days in Green Bay, in Lambeau after 12, the quarterback, meets with the team.”
