Not that we are any better, but that's still funny.

Any day the Vikings lose is a good day. No matter how the Packers season ends, I will celebrate another season with the Vikings not winning a Super Bowl with a glass of Grape Crush.

A tush push with inches to go, an undersized center, and one of the smallest guys on the roster pushing -- once while in motion. Not once, but TWICE in a row! That was just brilliant coaching. I loved watching the ranting and raving with friends who are Minny fans. Best Saturday football game in a long time!

We keep hearing how the Eagles are so good at the "Brotherly Shove." When will the vikings actually watch the Eagles tape, to see how they do it, so they might actually learn something? The vikings probably don't want anything to do with the Eagles, because they are still hurting from that 38-7 drubbing the Eagles gave them in the NFC Championship game, a few years ago. It was their one chance to have a Super Bowl appearance, in their own stadium, ruined by Philadelphia, and their own ineptitude. SKOL! Maybe they will call their version of the tush push the "skol plow,"if they ever figure it out.

Quote From Article: "Officials say the main goal of the enhanced perimeter is to meet Department of Homeland Security anti-terrorism standards and protect those attending events inside the stadium without restricting access and movement."

That doesn't make sense.  Enhanced security means, among other things, more rigorous inspections - with or without the persons awareness.  But getting people to move in the direction of the sensors can restrict movement.

But what do I know, I thought that whole thing was to keep people away from the building in case of falling panels or birds who find out things aren't what they seem.  That is enough of a reason to spend all that money - in Minnesota logic anyway.  Never mind they could pay the guy who sweeps up the dead birds $124,000/year for the next 500 years for what they are going to spend.  If the stadium lasts 60 years (and I would not bet on it) they would pay the guy $7,440,000 total.  That is a savings of $54,560,000.  Of course, panel repair and leak control would reduce that number some.  Still would leave plenty of money for a new field.

And that $62M is from the tax payers.

No joke. That total eyesore is going to cost us hard-earned $$$ while the Wilfs laugh all the way to the bank. There are a whopping 60 days of community events at the stadium, along with the 10 days or so of Vikings games. That leaves about 295 days they could rent it out for tractor pulls, monster truck rallies, etc., and earn some money to defray some costs. What a boondoggle.

Viking fans are a riot. They are actually clamoring to draft a QB and throw him right into the fire. " It's a waste to put him on the bench and watch!"

UM HELLO?

I do wonder if any other NFL teams will observe what the Packers did with Rodgers and Love and think, maybe giving them an off the field apprenticeship is worth wasting those rookie contract years....

They might observe it.  But the reason it very rarely happens is that all teams except the Packers have real owners that think they know more than their GMs or coaches.  And those owners got to have results now - not 3 years down the road.

...and they don't have a first ballot hall of famer to learn from.

This is the real reason as it is directly related to the "no single owner" reason too.  If you sit a RD01 rookie QB, you have to have someone starting that is the clearly better choice to give extra reason to keep the rookie on the bench.  Or there just isn't anyone with any patience in today's league to sit a rookie for more than a year if you don't have a starter that can win games.

Without that guy, what do you tell the rest of the team while you wade through 10+ losses every year?  "Only 2 more years of this to go, fellas.  Then we'll really start to try winning!"

Funny thing is, MIN is actually one of the few teams that is set up for that if they can sign Kark to a manageable 2yr+ contract, similar to what Gute did with AR.  Just less because he's Kark and coming off a big injury.

And it will be easier for Minnesota to do this since Cousins is not going to get as upset about drafting his replacement as most guys would.

That's another problem for this approach other than the owner.

As you say, the players in the locker room don't want to go out there and play with some rookie who is going to lose them games if there is a good veteran option already on hand. The only other time this has worked well is when Alex Smith started for the Chiefs in Mahome's rookie year. Smith wasn't a future HOFer, but he was very Kirk-like (good, but not elite).

If they don't have a good veteran QB, then the owner (and the players) don't want to have the best option to win just sit on the bench so that he doesn't get overwhelmed when the other options suck (like Bryce Young this year).

The other consideration is that neither Favre nor Rodgers were happy when the team used a first round pick to draft their replacement. It's not just those two and the Packers either. Tom Brady went over Belichick's head and got the Patriots to trade Garoppolo. In fact, Brady might have been more paranoid about the situation than Favre or Rodgers were, and Jimmy G was a third round pick.

https://www.businessinsider.co...ome%20to%20a%20head.

No good veteran QB is going to be happy if they are on a contending team and the front office uses a premium pick to draft his replacement for 3 years later instead of going all in to win then.

If they bring back Cousins, he would be the right guy for the front office to draft his replacement. He's far closer to the end than the beginning, lots of experience, doesn't appear to be a major diva, coming off a major injury, and I think he'd be okay playing at this point to keep the seat warm for a young QB. He's got a lot to come back from, and it would be a big plus if he just played another year or two. MN has way too many holes to fill to be a serious contender for a couple of years at least, so Cousins gets his money and plays and a young guy grows into the job.

There has been tons of hype for this season of TD.

And the first review I saw after the first episode aired sunday night was (Forbes.com) "Such a Disappointing Premier".

She should have worn a different hoodie.

She does play for the other team.

Not that there is anything wrong with that
