Jets third-round pick Jachai Polite went unclaimed on waivers.

Quite the fall for Polite.
Former #Packers backup QB DeShone Kizer was claimed by #Raiders, source said.

Carolina claimed N. Jamerson
I thought we always overvalue our castoffs?
Pankey signed by Titans, too.

Much like Florida State there are no TV games in the East Bay?
Betting on Kizer upsetting Gruden before Mayock fires Gruden.
Which is an actual line for the Vegas Raiders.....
I think you have it rong. Gruden can fire Mayock.
Never bet against what Mark Davis will allow you to bet on in Vegas.
Dude drives a crappy minny van.

$100,000 already in fines by the Jets for stupid shit like tardiness combined with his complete lack of preparation for the draft definitely tells that story. Guy doesnβt care about playing football.
Wow. The proverbial million dollar talent with a 10 cent head.
Dumdum.
Former Packersβ safety Josh Jones is visiting the Bills today, per source.

Packers trading for LB BJ Goodson from the Giants per Pellisero.
Was a 2016 4th round pick from Clemson. 6-1 / 243. Started 13 games last year. Runs a 4.7 (versus 5.1 that Antonio Morrison ran last year). Thought we'd go after a guy like Brandon Marshall, but either way, good to see Gutekunst making a move. Will be interesting to see what we gave up (Giants were in process of waiving him), who we cut (unless we place Burks on IR, which means he isn't just a week or two away from returning).

probably a conditional 7th rounder or maybe a swap of 7th rounders with protection to the NYGs if their pick is lower.
Marshall is done. Packers need a guy with speed at ILB and Goodson isn't that guy, but he surely has to be better than the misfits they have at the position now.
Goodson highlights (#93): https://www.youtube.com/watch?...amp;feature=youtu.be
My guess is he's going to be in the same playsets Morrison was. I don't think anyone is expecting him to be a cover ILB, not that they have much of choice.
If he runs a 4.7 that's not horrible. I'm hoping he's better at sideline to sideline than trying to cover the middle of the field.

His highlights seem to indicate he plays contain pretty well but not a whole lot more. Hopefully that's a consistent trait instead of a highlight reel.
Yeah, he'll be a run thumper just like Morrison was. They need coverage they'll just use Raven Greene.
Kentrell Brice also visiting Bills.
#Packers are releasing ILB James Crawford to make room on their 53-man roster for BJ Goodson, a league source said.

B.J. Goodson is more of a run defender than a coverage linebacker. He allowed a completion on over 75% of his targets last season. Conversely, Goodson ranked 7th on the Giants in defensive stops (PFF definition) while only playing the 9th most snaps on run downs. https://t.co/m9ps1UxQJa

#Packers LB BJ Goodson is a thick, downhill thumper. Tough and aggressive player... pic.twitter.com/pD3dk1pwnS

I wasn't seeing a whole lot of "downhill thumping" rather than keeping contain for short gains. I guess we'll see.
On those 2 tackles at least he wrapped up and didn't try to bring guys down with a big hit with his shoulder.
Highlights show he can read and see through traffic more than going downhill. Fine by me, not expecting a super star. Just be a consistent tackler and prevent us from getting gashed.
...and can you tackle the rb leaking out into coverage!
Too bad, Crawford is Charles Woodsonβs nephew. Would have been a good story for him to be a contributor to this team.
Sounds like Goodson was going to be a hot waiver claim, probably a safe move to secure some quality depth.
As this points out, it sounds like he's a faster, more aggressive version of Morrison. Fans can't expect a Ray Lewis to be available at this point in the season, especially for what's likely to be a 7th round pick. I'm just glad to see Gutenmeister continuing to kick tires and doing something to bolster what was a pretty thin ILB corp.
B.J. Goodson (93) is not particularly fluid, but he does move better than Antonio Morrison, who probably wouldn't have made this play in space. https://t.co/mjak2Wcz2r via @YouTube

Absolutely. It was a good pick up on the fly going into the season. No complaints.
Looks plenty quick to me. Has a knack for finding the prize no matter how much traffic is in his way. Seems focused all the time. He and Blake should wreek some together.
Some perspective on #Packers trading for ILB BJ Goodson. Source said team is preparing for Oren Burks (pec) to miss about the first four weeks. Goodson probably won't be ready this week, so Ty Summers is a better option at ILB than James Crawford this week vs. #Bears

Cowpoke releasing Rolando McClain. Any interest?

It's a highlight reel.
Stopgap player, nothing more.
Likely how/why the Raiders ended up with Kizer:
#Raiders QB Nathan Peterman has a small tear in non supporting ligament in his elbow, source said. That is what landed him on Injured Reserve.
