Polite, picked 68 overall in 2019 could very well be the highest ever draft pick who got cut for performance issues in NFL history.
Patriots ( Bill Belichek ) in a cost cutting move releases WR Demaryius Thomas.
Gilbert Brown was picked 79th in 3rd round in '93 and let go by the Vikings on the final cut. Ron Wolf thankfully picked him up!
Miami trading starting LT Laremy Tunsil and WR Kenny Stills to Houston
edit: in return Miami gets are you sitting down, 2 first rounders, + a second rounder.
Holy hell.

You have to make that trade if you are Miami and rebuilding, but their QBs are likely to get beat to hell this year.

Way to go Houston
Did TT take on a consulting gig with the Texans?
The ghost of dan Devine is running the Texans.
Dolphins going full tank mode
Rosen be like what the **** trade me again already

Makes sense.
Jones/McCoy would be a nice one two punch. Just saying...

Gotta believe effort / attitude must have played a part

If McCoy is not the featured back he will be a problem in the locker room.

Maybe, but reduced carries would extend his career and maybe help his future health. Remember Bennett and Levens?
Regarding the Texans. Letβs unpack all this. Logically:
Lost: Clowney. 2 first round picks. 2nd round pick.
Gained. Franchise LT. Starting WR. 3rd round pick. ILB. OLB.
Good time to remind everyone Luck retired last week. Houston has their forever QB. And one of the top 3 WRs in the NFL. Now a franchise LT.
All this comes down to your belief on the importance of winning the division. Houston improved its chances of winning the division today.
They still have O Brien as their head coach. Heβs in MM territory.
Letβs see if their forever QB can stay healthy.
I didnβt bitch about TT not trading for Moss or Beast Mode. Isnβt that the βall inβ analogy? I did bitch about not drafting TJ Watt. That was utter stupidity. But thatβs on Murphy not TT. Murphy should have kicked him upstairs and removed MM well before he did.
Let me excuse myself so I can piss down my pants now.
That James Crawford made the final 53 tells you how dog $hit our ILB depth is
Defense is a LOT better but agree am concerned about ILB. Hopefully one of the younger guys can emerge.
Chongo posted:That James Crawford made the final 53 tells you how dog $hit our ILB depth is
This is a very unfortunate fact. I think Ty Summers will develop into a respectable starting ILB. But itβs going to be a lot of ugly between now and then.

Man, did I ever complain about Moss not being signed. In fact, I opened a topic titled, "Randy Moss Is Gonna Blow Up the NFL" and he went on to have the finest statistical season for a wide receiver in the history of the NFL.
Too high a ceiling not to be willing to part with more to make it happen.
On the ILB front, too many holes for Pack brass to be able to fill them all.
Interesting how historically the Pack is so often more QB strong while the Bears are more ILB strong.

They could sign Kaepernick and let him get beat to a pulp.

We get the Bills every week here. Shady doesn't have much left in the tank.

I think Iβd be more interested in picking up Jay Ajayi IF heβs healthy enough.
Chargers are letting Melvin walk....

That is the problem....he still sees himself as a #1 who wants carries, in addition he was ineffective last season & this preseason
If I'm the Packers, I'm looking hard at any ILBs released by the Ravens, Eagles, Bears, Jacksonville, or other strong defensive teams.
Wouldn't be surprised if GB trades a CB for an ILB.
GB is going to have a good defense.
If King plays itβs a really good defense.
If Josh Jackson rebounds itβs a great defense.
If Gary is good then I just hope he gets better in year 2.

Dammit why didnβt we trade Josh Jones for him when we had the chance?

Itβs not going to be a great defense with those ILBs.
hard to say about the trades for houston, depends on your view...for me, clowney only showed up one year, really...last year he was a great pass rusher, the hags had one, 55, now he's gone and they did good with the trade, man i miss schneider. but if clowney, or anyone else for that matter, doesn't want to play for your team anymore, you are really hamstrung with that - there may need to be some kind of changes that don't allow teams to get fleeced in this kind of situation...I am not sure how to do it, but it seems unbalanced for sure. The guy was a top 10 pick, but as soon as he's public about not wanting to play there anymore, his stock just plummets for the texans...so get what you can...or release...tough one...
Saints are trading LB Vince Biegel to Dolphins for LB Kiko Alonso, per source. LB-for-LB deal.

Wow. Polite was mocked high, had a pretty shitty week at the combine which lowered his draft stock, but to be cut has to be a surprise.
He was the Jets top pick too, they didn't have a 1st or 2nd round pick.
I'd put a claim in on Polite just to take a look. There has to be some talent there.

The Jets new GM didn't draft Polite. According to the local paper, he didn't do anything on the field and was late to meetings.
