There's a lot of talk out of Denver that they might be looking to trade Emmanuel Sanders (among others).  Their season is over so no reason to hold on to a 32 year old WR on the last year of his deal.  He was pretty immature when he was younger but he's grown quite a bit off the field in recent years.  He'd be a huge boost to this Packers receiving corp.

I'd trade a 4th then let him walk after the season, likely recouping a 5th round comp pick.

Love the way you think.

4th might be a little rich considering what they would get out of him. You’re looking at probably 10 games (if they traded now) plus possibly playoffs to basically replace Cobb. My hunch is that they let Cobb walk, who wasn’t that expensive, to really let their young guys develop and I’m not sure why that would change now. If we had a major season ending injury to Adams I could see a rental like this, but I would bet they will ride or die with who they have. They’re saving money to pay Clark what they can this year up front. If they traded for someone I would guess it would be someone at WR it would be someone young who they would want to keep on the roster long term.

i am not sure its 100% on the wr's.  i have seen numerous times where they are free, and 12 doesn't have time to hit them, or he throws at their feet bc of pressure or whatever, i think it is taking time, which is what is to be expected.  there's a part of it which is trust and familiarity, they have to work on this through hard knocks, unfortunately.

Depending on its severity, turf toe can be tough to come back from. And if this happened earlier in the season I might consider Sanders. But right now I don’t see it. Right now it’s about his price, injury history and unfamiliarity with our system. But, I suppose, it’s worth considering. Yet I cannot remember the last time this team brought in a good WR this late in the season.

I spot you one Andre Rison.

Yep it was late in the season. Just because I did not remember it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. He was impactful. Of course, he did not last.

was that in the mid nineties?

It was the 96 championship team.  For a few weeks, Packers were without Brooks (season ending injury), Freeman, and Chmura.  They lost back to back to KC and Dallas.  Then picked up Rison.  Started slow against Rams, but won that game and the rest of them.  (Had also lost at Minnesota earlier.)

That '96 team was so good, there's a small chance they win the Super Bowl even without Rison, but I am glad they didn't have to try to do that without him.  He may not have always had big box score numbers, but he was desperately needed with all the skill guys that were injured.  I think that TD pass to him early in Super Bowl XXXI really set the tone for winning that game.  That pass to him and the duckwalk into the End Zone was one of the great moments in my lifetime watching the Packers (I started in '78).

Not to mention the TD catch Rison made in the SB against the Patriots.  Was it Freeman or Rison that scored the first TD?  Whichever it was, the other scored the next TD.  If I recall correctly, they said that the total scoring in the first quarter of that game set a SB record to that point in SB history.  He was a big mid season acquisition.  The Packers were tight against the salary cap in those days.  So much so that DE Sean Jones said he would give some money back so GB could sign Rison.  Jones was surprised at how appreciative Packer fans were that he would even consider doing that.  And the salary cap would be reasons for not re-signing some of the corner stones of that championship team.

Putting it another way, if Jones hasn't demonstrated he learned anything on the field while in GB, why should he be expected to be able to communicate anything about the Packer defense to the Cowboys?

Just to hear Jones say "this guy will go deep but the Packers won't cover him", Cowboy player "why not?", Jones "I didn't",  would be priceless.

This should be all the Cowboys need to hear to give him a pink slip BEFORE the game.

Good pass rusher at Bama, obviously hasn’t been able to put it together in Baltimore. Have to think Hendrickson and maybe even Z Smith gave some input that he was worth the chance. Not sure he’s much different than Reggie Gilbert at this point, I’m sure they’re hoping his best football is in front of him.

I'll take cast offs from the Ravens defense when it comes to scrubs.  Might get a little out of them at least.

I wouldn't mind more Baltimore FO guys in the Packers FO.

There isn’t a good coach on the planet that wants any part of Danny Snyder. Plenty of wrong coaches that want a money grab and get nothing done. Danny will pick one of those wrong coaches. And Danny will pay them a lot of money to get nothing done. And we’ll be back here in 3 years.

That my friend, is a brilliant take.

Cowboys fans are in a tizzy because cobb is hurt and has not done anything since 1st game. Cobb has back and hip injuries and cant practice. For all the excitement they had when he replaced Beasley,  they are now upset jerrah  wasted the money on a  constant hurt player.

Yep.  It's followed almost the same script as last year.  Cobb looks fresh and good in week 1, but quickly tails off as it seems like his body can't handle the rigors of the NFL like it could in his early to mid '20s.  Heck, even then he wasn't a guy who stayed healthy all the time.

He's probably capable of another good game or 2 but his days of being a top slot receiver have been over for a good 3 or 4 years now.

Snyderbrenner, "Looking forward to big things Mike.  I hear they even call you McVince!  We've got all the pieces in place now."

McVince, "It's true.  The coaching talent alone on this staff with the likes of Winston Moss . .  "

Snyderbrenner, "Get out".
