ESPN 49er reporter:

@nwagoner:  49ers will host the Packers next weekend.

That game will almost certainly take place on Saturday. I'd suspect that times will be released this evening after Lions-Rams.

It'll be Saturday. No way the PHI/TAM winner is forced to play Monday then Saturday. Also, Saturday has a 7p game and that likely is the time slot.

And with Buffalo and Pittsburgh playing tomorrow you can't really force them to play Saturday either.

Burying Houston @Baltimore in the first game Saturday (assuming Buffalo wins) would make sense too.

I wonder what game time/date we'll get?

My predictions:

Baltimore vs. Steelers or Houston  early game Sat (3:30 CST)

Packers vs. San Fran  late game Sat   (7:00  CST)

Philly or Tampa vs Detoilet   Early game Sunday

AFC  K C at Bills or Houston at K C.   Late Game

I think they try to give the #1 seeds, thinking they will win, an extra day of rest.

I thought if they played well they could beat Dallas.   MM is a choke artist.

I don’t feel the same way about San Fran.   That is a physical football team and hell of a coach.   They will run the ball 40 times in a row of Barry doesn’t respond to it.

Yep, that's why I'm flushing my house money shit if they pull this one off. You need to play at an elite level to beat them this time of year.

For whatever reason, the 49ers have had our number in playoff action from 2012 onwards.  And it’s been completely different groups of players and coaches that have hurt us.  In 2012 and 2013 it was the Kaepernick/Harbaugh duo that killed us.  Then in 2019, and 2021 it was Garrapolo and Shanahan that ruined promising playoff runs.

Maybe the Love/LaFleuer duo is the right combo to end their recent playoff success against us.  I’m sure older 49ers fans probably still are pissed about the mid 1990s where the Packers ended their seasons 3 years in a row.  And it would have been 4 years in a row had referees correctly ruled the Jerry Rice fumble in the 1998 season wild card round.

We’re due to start turning this rivalry back around in our favor…. hopefully next weekend.

Thanking my lucky stars for the Saturday night game.   I agreed to Disneyland trip that Sunday 2 months ago.    Dodged a bullet there.  I’ll be watching at the hotel bar as we get in Saturday at 2ish.   Phew.

Keeping with the same AR comparisons.  Love wins tonight like ar won eagles game, love wins next week at San Fran like ar won in Atlanta, then love goes to Detroit to beat lions a division opponent like ar went to Chicago and won. Dejavu all over again. So let it be written so let it be done....

Love how all the headlines are about the cowpokes demise, and if MM will keep his job. Nothing about how awesome the Packers played or were coached, ya know except for that substitution fiasco .  The Pack just kicked ass and I want someone to say it.  🤬 🤬 🤬

Here's how the story should go, right Goldie?

Once upon a time, there was a little town in the hinterlands on the edge of a bay that owned an underdog team of players who were wet behind the ears and did little right: players ran into each other; their field general frequently airmailed the ball to the other team; coaches made head-scratching calls and decisions; players tripped over their feet as a score was imminent; the ball slipped through fingers; opponents ran over and through them with ease; and, in a departure from other teams, no cheerleaders graced the sideline.

Just when it seemed the winter's cold darkness would descend on that team's season, a tiny ray of light shone down on the tundra. That underdog team saw the light. Players learned where to run; the leader found his groove; coaches gazed into a crystal ball and made the right calls; and when one man went down, another seamlessly took his place. The people in that December town began to cheer and to hope.

Lo and behold, the hard work paid off and that small-town team crashed the big-city playoffs. The first game was against a team of monster men and pros' pros. No one gave the underdogs a cheese curd's chance in hell of winning the clash. Those players played for each other. The coaches coached for their jobs. That green team snarled and growled and clawed and fought and kicked ass, and when the final whistle blew, they stood tall and proud as victors. Yet those who talk for a living claimed the other team had a "bad day" as they dismissed the underdog's victory and slavered over the opponent's off-season fate.

Now that longshot team must prepare for another contest, this one against a warm-weather team of titans led by a coaching giant. Few outsiders believe they will prevail. The microphone-holders predict a double-digit loss.

But there's a tiny town by a bay in the hinterland where they pray at bench seating to St. Vince, asking to witness another miracle.

(They kicked ass, Goldie!  )

Looks as though JL uses MLF full offense whereas Rodgers tended to feature one receiver such as throwing to a triple covered Davante while an open Lazard was running down the middle. (of course Rodgers and we all knew Lazard would probably drop it) Still JL will make that throw underneath where you knew Rodgers would not. Nobody gave the Packers a chance against Dallas and even less will give us a chance against San Fran. Go Jordan. Make history for the Packers.

Most definitely HAVE to stop the run

Was there a week in a half ago. Hopefully you'll be at the Disney Westin bar. I watched 2nd half of MN/GB game there on New Year's Eve. Very impressed.
