SF has more talent than we do at almost every position group and would probably beat us 7 out of 10 times. We need to win, or at least not lose, the turnover battle and make a handful of "splash" plays (sacks, great catches / throws, etc.).

You could've said the same thing about the Packers in the 2 playoffs games in Lambeau.

The "better team" doesn't always win. Let's make it happen again!

Sports anchor last night..... Says....."every team would take Brock Purdy over Jordan Love"

I can guarantee  even the Niners would take Love over Purdy

He was all pissy.... Because Amy Trask said she can't wait to watch seven great quarterbacks and Brock Purdy. 😆

A lot of manufactured... Disrespect

I'm usually indifferent in my middle age about talk during the week leading up to games. But the past two days, Niner fans seem to be 1) calling for a blowout of GB, and 2) needing to conjure up manufactured disrespect like claiming Wyatt is talking trash about Purdy. I can only hope against hope that their team is looking past the Packers like their fans are. If anyone can expose a team's weaknesses, it's Shanarat. They're a vg football team who imposes their will on the opposition. GB will need to match or outphysical them and set a tone in the trenches. Punch them in the mouth, just short of Chmura's ridiculous message. This will be a test of MLF's will and what he has imparted upon his team this week. If nothing else, SF and the world need to know that GB wouldn't go down like the soft team reputation they've gained in past years. I want a dogfight tomorrow.

My prediction is that the Niners will get ahead in the first half, but it won't be a blowout. Say something like 20-10 at the half. The Packers may close within a one score at some point (20-13 or 20-17 in the third quarter), but then the Niners will pull away and get ahead by something like 34-17. The final score will end up looking a little better after the Packers move the ball in garbage time (37-24 or something like that).

In the scheme of things I am OK with a loss as long as it's somewhat competitive and the Packers don't make unforced errors to beat themselves.

If McCaffrey makes some great plays to beat us or if Chase Young/Nick Bosa generate pass rush and disrupt the offense despite well designed protection schemes, sometimes the other guys are just really good and you have to appreciate talent. Nick Bosa and Chase Young were #2 overall picks (both behind QBs) in their drafts. They are supposed to be be dominant.

The losses that bother me the most are

1. When the officials make egregious mistakes

The Arizona missed facemark call after the 2009 season

The Jerry Rice fumble after the 1998 season.

2. When your QB makes idiotic decisions (in other words, post-Holmgren Favre against the Giants in OT, against the Eagles in OT, and the 6 interception game against the Rams).

3. When you get beat because of poor execution on special teams (2014 Seattle, 2021 Niners). If Devin Hester or Gale Sayers beats you on a punt return fine, but don't get beat because you don't execute simple things.

My prediction is that the Niners will get ahead in the first half, but it won't be a blowout. Say something like 20-10 at the half. Need to get within 9 points...

Fuck the 49ers and their clown fans.

What's really funny is idiots on the internet trying to play the underdog role when their team is -9.5 points favorites.

They are really scared 😨

Butler went into say that this 23/24 is a team as opposed to.

He said that MLF will be bringing a team with the emphasis on team. As opposed to a certain quarterback who wanted to run HIS system and was locked into a certain receiver or two as opposed to hitting the open receiver whomever that may be.

They've already pretty much penciled in S.F. to the NFC Championship game:

"If the Lions get past the Buccaneers at home, they'll face the 49ers in the NFC Championship (assuming the 49ers win). "

Assume, just like it was assumed that huge favorite Dallas was going to roll the Packers last week. As a people we love to rank and categorize everything: movies, music, people, sports teams. Thing is, everything is dynamic, and it is entirely possible that this Packers team is becoming one of the top teams week by week. All of the talking heads will reverse everything they’ve been saying when/if the Packers yet again stun the NFL, and say “maybe this team is one of the best, if not the best team in the NFL”. Things change, individuals learn and grow, and teams come together and improve. If the Niners players and coaches do as much assuming as the masses (and the Cowboys players and coaches did) they’ll get punched in the face. I don’t think they will, and will ultimately win a very tough and entertaining game, but we now know better not to sleep on this Packers team. It’s been a hell of an interesting season. The early struggles have made the huge strides that much sweeter.

They should be. They are about to be beaten.

Sad I will miss the game. Flying with wife to Costa Rica at the time. First visit there. Will depend on game thread for the play by play.

I'm going to post a bunch of crap and start calling daggers in the first quarter while you're on the plane 🤭

Have fun in Costa Rica 🫡🙂

It's not the worst way to follow a game.  Long story short, I missed the 4thQ of the run the table, DET hail mary game and ended up reading the game thread to catch up, the next morning.  Had no idea what happened, assumed they lost.  It was still really dramatic and couldn't believe it and had to google the score.

I was playing softball that night and when I got home checked the yahoo app and it showed they were behind with 0:00 left in the fourth quarter so I never turned on any sports and went to bed. Shocked the next morning to see what happened

I'm still trying to determine whether or not I should be praying for wind and rain tonight.

Rain favors running. The niners have CMAC - the Packers have 33 and have recently had a pretty good run defense. I like our QB better in all conditions, but even moreso in the rain. Anders Carlson in the rain scares the bejeezus out of me.

Please advise.

I will be waiting for the two TDs Watson will get tonight. Thinking of you, hope you have a blast on your trip.

I am anxious to see Cox getting some action. I thought he was pretty dang good in the pre-season. Was surprised he did not make the final 53 or was not brought up earlier this season. Bottom line I think he is the real deal !

Shame about Enga Bare (SP) he had played great this season imo.
