Even if they get whipped I wouldn't consider it an embarrassment.   The team has already exceeded expectations and is tracking in the right direction.

For the defense, if they perform well, that's a win for the GBP.   If they get abused, that's a win for the GBP too as it's another reason to move on from FJB.

Seriously.....this is all house money x4 at this point....just being competitive against what is CLEARLY one of the top 2 teams in the league....I will stand an applaud at the end even if they lose.

Stay loose....let it rip.....you have nothing to lose and the Niners are tight. They're worried because this ain't Aaron Rodgers' Packers anymore.

I also hope this one is competitive and they play them hard and make them earn everything they get.  If they lose so be it because it has been a lot of fun.

But, with everything being said I think like last week there is a ton of pressure on SF.  The path to the Super Bowl is right in front of them.  Their biggest threat in Dallas is gone and if they get a darn good Lions team they will get them at home.

But as Lambeau Lobo said it has been over 20 days since they played a meaningful game and will that hurt them?

And finally all the pressure is on SF to win this one because like Dallas they have not won the super bowl since January of 1995.  But unlike Dallas they have been back twice and lost and lost a couple of NFCC games.  So there has to be some pressure in that locker room to get it done against lesser teams.

So, confirming what many always thought, especially last year: Rodgers was doing what he felt like and going off script. I, for one, am shocked.

I'll also add that I love that this offense looks so much better, so much more creative without the smartest guy in the room calling the shots and convinced he knows better. Hey Bobby Saleh, take notes for 2024. It won't be pretty.

I've seen others point that out on twitter too but it's not seen widespread acknowledgement.  He hasn't had the sack numbers but I seem to read about him getting pressure in the game recaps.  Pressure is important but he's getting paid to be a difference maker.

It will be especially important since he usually lines up on the opposite side of Trent Williams. Preston will likely have a heck of a time generating much from his spot without stunts and twists, so Gary needs to beat McKivitz.

Super interesting comments from Steno and something I'd never have thought about without him commenting on it.

You do see it now if you watch the various tape breakdowns on our plays.  Run the same plays with different motion at different times in the game.  Run the same motion into different routes.  Run the same routes with different stems.  The defense just gets confused and never really knows what's happening.

But that can only happen if you run the plays as called, so you can set up the other plays later in the game.  If you're constantly going off script, sure it can be successful in the moment, but it doesn't set you up for capitalizing on these plays later in the game.

It's why this year has been so fun to watch because it's like watching a chess match out there instead of sandlot football.  I wish we could have had several years of MLF's true offense to have watched, it's just so good.

I wish Aaron would've just run the offense instead of acting like he's the smartest guy at the LOS.

But that's boring.....he's bored making the easy throws.

I'm so pissed they wasted 2022....but glad they got what they did for Rodgers in 2023.

Beating 49ers would give Packers the NFL record for playoff wins

The Green Bay Packers tied the New England Patriots for the most postseason wins in NFL history when they beat the Dallas Cowboys inSaturday will be Green Bay’s 63rd playoff game, the third-most all-time.

Overall, the Packers are 37-25 in the playoffs, including an 11-11 mark in the divisional round. Green Bay has the third-best winning percentage in the playoffs at .597, trailing San Francisco (.610) and New England (.627).the wild-card round, and they’ll have a chance to set the record on Saturday against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Packers and Patriots each have 37 postseason victories. The 49ers rank third with 36. The Packers and 49ers will meet for a record 10th time in the postseason. The 49ers hold a 5-4 lead in the series thanks to four straight wins.

BB material: The 49ers have won six straight games in the divisional round

Of all my 30 years watching GBP playoff football, this year sure feels different not having any pressure. We have a bright future win loose or draw

4 consecutive wins vs the Packers?
Why, we owe those dirty bastards a beating!

Let's revisit 1995; playing at SF in the divisional round of playoffs, and whooped 'em 27-17.
That's a realistic, achievable goal for this game.

While the GB offense has been fun as hell to watch of late, I think this game comes down first and foremost to how physical the defense plays. I don't see this Joe Barry defense being able to hit SF in the mouth and control the LOS. Why do I say that? Because I've never seen it happen. I fear SF feasts on this and runs GB off the field, maybe not to the extent they did in 2019, but with the same blueprint and with similar results. Hopefully the GB offense can stay on the field and match SF  blow for blow.

That GB defense was LOADED with defensive talent and set the tone early with not only the defensive TD, but also with putting the SF skill players on their ass all game. I'm not sure this GB defensive has that capability in them.
