Yes, let's pray they can find someone who can get the best out of AR. It won't be an easy task. MM certainly did at one point, but this year they were completely dysfunctional. It was not a good look for either guy. AR is going to take a lot of crap for this (I was already hearing some of the garbage on NFL Network), I hope somehow he uses all the crap he is about to get in a positive way. People love to kick a guy when he's down, and Rodgers is going to get kicked a lot the rest of the season.
Not if he lights it up with Philbin. In fact, that would be a huge indictment of McVince considering it's the same offense.

Mark Murphy should be next. Too much shit happened on his watch. If we’re going to clean house, let’s clean house.
Let's hope that Murphy realizes he is under the gun here. Although he appears to be inept in front of the camera, he isn't a dummy.
Henry posted:I don't think Rodgers has a problem with McVince. I take him at his word, which makes the most sense, that the mechanics of the offense are off. If the mechanics are off it would be logical Rodgers is out of the pocket or throwing the ball away. Whodathunk with a collection of rookies, a beat up oline and ****ing Spriggs would be out of sync. Whodathunk Rodgers would look upset or straight faced when the offense is flopping.
Regardless if I think McVince needs to go, no single entity is at fault but he bears the responsibility. It became clear this team was stuck after seeing last year when Rodgers wasn't part of the equation. What I find hilarious is going after the QB that kept this team viable for years after the revelation of last year. IMO, McVince needs to go because his management is absolute horseshit and he's out of ideas. He was trying to run the same shit with Hundley only to figure out half way through the season that running the ball might be a better option. 4 to 5 games to adjust screams stale.
Kinda, sorta a good post,
Give Gutey full GM authority now and let him hire the HC.
Eh, what's going on you hosers?
It’s a results based business. He’s missed the playoffs for the second year in a row, this time with a mostly healthy franchise QB. Good luck Mike, seems like a good dude. You gotta win though.
Next guy up. Hope Gute makes key moves to improve some weak spots and beefs up depth because it doesn’t matter who is coaching if the talent is subpar. We can’t have Tramon Williams and Josh Jones starting at Safety, that’s not a winnable combination. We can’t rely on MVS and St Brown to play key roles and the fact that people were thrilled to see Jake Kumerow back in the lineup is an indictment of the talent level were used to seeing. We can’t have Justin McCray and Jason Spriggs as key depth with backup level talents like Taylor and Bell starting. No coach will win with those weak points, those will always be exploited.

I’m all for bringing back Sugar Bear if he brings Johnny Fooseball with him.
I see McStupidface did slip in one last we do what we do before he was shown the door.
I hope he's gone tomorrow.
Don't care.
Jay Glazer reporting other coaches around the league are outraged about the way Mike McCarthy was fired. That doesn't bode well for a front office looking for a coach to replace him.

Really thought they'd wait until the end of the season but no real sense in postponing the inevitable and it gives the team a head start in the search process.
IMO, all about ticket sales for Murphy. Fans saw the difference firing Hue made, maybe he’s gambling that making a move now will get some butts in the seats the rest of the year. If he sticks with MM then ticket sales suffer, fans will tune out the team completely.

And Tom Izzo bitches about each and every single CBB coach that's fired no matter how well they perform.
Welp, we're boned, no coach is gonna take a job coaching the most storied franchise in the league with the luxury of Aaron Rodgers now because a guy that won a Super Bowl 9 years ago and is staring at 2 straight losing seasons was fired.
We should definitely take organizational decision advice from opposing coaches in the future.
Hell, why stop there. Let's have Mike Zimmer run the draft!

I didn't realize today's game wasn't sold out
So they’re saying they did not intend on firing him when they met after the game... if that’s the case, McCarthy may have told them he’s done. Or that he doesn’t see any improvements possible. Either way, it appears that he wasn’t going to be fired until they met. Then they did...

Coaches bitch when coaches are fired for poor performance because they don't like being held accountable themselves.
And, a bunch of media dickbags are more than happy to carry water for said coaches in order to maintain their precious access.
In other news water is wet.

It was. 77,234 fannys in the seats.
I'm not buying the Murphy looking for a buck angle on this. MM was a good coach for us and I wish him the best, but it was time. The questions of his job security were going to be hanging over the entire team for the next month. Give him a chance to move on and find a new opportunity and allow us to actively search for a new HC.

Could be 2-3 months for this organization. A good organization would have things somewhat figured out already, but I am guessing Murphy hasn't even thought about the next step.
A good organization would can Murphy as well. Really get a fresh start.
If the power trio was a 1 year structure and Murphy announces in his presser tomorrow that Gutekunst has coach hiring authority, then Murphy is fine playing Howdy Doody for a few more years.
IIRC, mandatory retirement is at 70. He's 63 I think.

Old one-eye saying "It's a mistake." Why? Because he's been beating the Packers.
That shit had to end.

I agree, the way the whole TT transition was handled was an embarrassment. In addition, I thought the idea starting with Harlan/Wolf was for the upper-management to get out of the way in relation to football and worry about bloody mary bars. I was troubled that Murphy retained control over the HC in the end and it seems that Russ Ball also reports to him. This sets the atmosphere to return to the post-Vince mess.
I think some of you are overreacting to this structure. It’s common throughout the league and you don’t hear about there being issues with accountability. Pittsburgh and NE have the same set up, I don’t think there’s any issues with those coaches not reporting to the GM.
Except the Packers don't have an owner to tell them both to **** off
Pat Fitzgerald will get a call.
