We finally agree
We agree a lot. I just like to argue.
Disagree
Not a fan due to Jim Harbaugh’s arrogance but he makes sense to at least get an interview and strong consideration for the HC job.
-Brian Gutekunst is ALLEGEDLY a fan of him.
-John Gutekunst’s connection to Harbaugh dating back to their days in the Big Ten.
-He’s a name that will initially have a positive impact on corporate sponsors and high revenue partners.
-Harbaugh is a guy that should connect with Rodgers. If he doesn’t, I am sure Murphy/Gutekunst believe they can deal Rodgers for a king’s ransom and bring in a young prospect that Harbaugh can coach up.
-With an Asst. Head Coach title, Harbaugh might be able to pry Fangio from the Bears due to their relationship from the Niners.

Who cares? **** that guy.
Jeff Janis! is still available.
I am surprised that three weeks after letting mm go, there has been no rumor of any contact with any potential coach, college or pro.
As for pro that would be tampering. And most college guys you want are coaching in bowl games.
Lovely defense.
Nice intentional grounding.
The play call before overtime were way worse than anything MM would have called. Cross Philbardi off the list.
He was off my list from the beginning.

Yes, over 500 in total offense is negated by one play call.
Philbin best not be anywhere near the staff in 2019.
A complete overhaul is in order.
Including Pettine

That defense, full of 4th stringers and practice squad guys is 15th in the league. 15th. Run some of those Wizard numbers by me. They used to lose because of defense. This defense kept them in the game till the bunch of no names were gassed because ****ing Mcvince's complete failure on offense.
Of course, Rodgers is a cancer too. Poor, poor McVince.
That was some horrible mismanagement of the play clock at the end of the 4th Q.
1st down with 1:20 left at 11 yd line. First 2 plays, 2 incomplete passes saving Jets 2 timeouts. That's some jeeenyous play calling right there. In that situation 1st & 2nd down have to be runs. They Have to be! Worse case scenario you have a little more than 1 minute left but force Jets to burn their timeouts bringing up 3rd down when you know you have 2 chances to score. You either win the game in regulation without giving the Jets any time left or you lose. It's called situational football & the head coach MUST know how to handle the clock. Philbardi is a nicer version of MM. He has to go.
Also, Pettine's defense sucked today. Yes I know he has like 5 street free agents playing but their defense was shit today.

Seems like yoh have a hard on for me. Maybe you should quit acting like a pre-teen and quit with made up names for coaches and watch the game. Stats don't mean shit. The defense sucks. Giving up 1st downs to the Jets on almost every play is pathetic. Rodgers has not been playing up to his contract value all season. He finally made some plays but also tried to help 17 pad his stats to break Sterling Sharpe's record.

One play call? What game were you watching? 1st down, RTFB. 2nd down, RTFB!! I'm not even sure Rodgers really scored.
Bitching about play calls is akin to parents hollering "3 seconds!" at middle school basketball games. We have NO IDEA what was called, if the play was changed because the QB saw that the defense had more players than could be blocked, etc. you call plays that you think have the best chance of being successful vs. what the defense presents or what your analytics predict the defense will be in given down / distance, etc.

Why did it suck? You guys just don't ****ing get it. Give him the level of talent the Wizard had in the past and what do you think will happen with Pettine? The guy playing a parade of scrubs and still getting more out of them.
What is it that you guys don't get? The fact The Wizard couldn't do shit with the talent he had and Pettine comes in the first year and immediately makes a difference with what can be only described as a dearth of talent? Watching the scrub parade where just by the alignments he keeps defenses on their toes with starters like Jones, Brice, M. Adams, Fackrell, and the parade of walking dead. Jesus f' Christ. The one guy that comes to town in the past 7 years worth a shit and you guys get butthurt for McVince. My goodness, whatever could happen with Pettine running a defense when he actually has talent?
Do people not see this? Can they not comprehend this? I didn't think it was that hard.
Why was the internet invented If we can't bitch about play calls .
I’ll ask Al Gore

1st & Goal at NYJ 1
(1:32 - 4th) A.Rodgers pass incomplete short right to D.Vitale [N.Hewitt].
2nd & Goal at NYJ 1
(1:27 - 4th) (Shotgun) A.Rodgers pass incomplete short right to M.Valdes-Scantling.
3rd & Goal at NYJ 1
(1:23 - 4th) (Shotgun) J.Williams up the middle to NYJ 1 for no gain (F.Luvu).
How can you think these were the best play calls or even the best audibles?

Preaching to the choir here. We had exactly 2 guys playing today (Martinez & CM) that were starting at those positions at the start of the season. The whole has been better than the parts on defense this year. Pettine is the best thing about this season & I hope he is retained.

FLPACKER posted:Bitching about play calls is akin to parents hollering "3 seconds!" at middle school basketball games.
You're Rong.
It's called situational football & when the Packers are down by 5 & threatening to score they absolutely MUST make the defense burn their timeouts & leave little to NO time left on the clock. You either score & win or you lose but at least you don't give the other team a chance to tie the game pushing it to OT.
I don't GAF if the defense has 15 players on the field stacking the line. Run the ****ing ball!!
Andy Reid BLOWS at clock management, so did MM. So does Philbin as we witnessed today.
These are the important issues that a head coach is responsible for. Until the Packers get a real head coach, they will not win a playoff game much less get to the ultimate game.
That is your opinion, is your belief based on: 1) analytical studies of all similar situations in the past 20 years, teams approach to the situation and the statistical outcomes? 2) Discussions with college & NFL coaches, their philosophy, their experience with these situations? 3) Years of experience in having been in these situations?

I think we can all agree that Compers sucked and should have been gone years ago. And I do think that Pettine has done a decent job with the D this season. They’re not good, and they certainly didn’t play well today, but I think there’s been a severe lack of talent on this team on both sides of the ball for years.
What I find fascinating is that every time somebody disagrees with you, you go on another one of your “McVince” rants. That never gets old.

Oh don't worry, Murphy will **** up this coaching hire and get some jughead of Northwestern who will fire the only decent football coach in Green Bay for the past 4 years.
Zook?
One reason the D stunk was special teams kept giving the Jets phenomenal field position all day. Their TD return was no accident.
Mcdunce saw something in Zook and the rest of his assistant clown parade which is a another good reason his butt was 86'ed.
