Simmons is a beast of a football player that some think could be the best defensive lineman in the draft.

Im not going to send the kid into eternal hell for smacking a woman. Super stupid move but he’s paid his price and should be allowed to move forward. Red flag, yes.

The ACL isn’t ideal but modern medicine has made that injury much less damaging.

Im not advocating him going at 12, but I wouldn’t be pissed if Gute went that way.

Hockenson vs. Fant.  Anyone real familiar with them?   From what I’ve read it seems Hockenson is the better all around TE including blocking and Fant is a little faster and creates more matchup problems but isn’t as good a blocker.   Correct or not?

Hockenson catches the ball better. Fant has too many drops.

It was more like pound her with fists in the head while she's on the ground getting pummeled by another female family member. What price has he paid exactly? He didn't get charged, he still got his D1 scholarship, he still stands to make millions in the NFL. Ridicule in the media and not being invited to the combine were really the only price he paid.

Just a little smack. Oh but he didn't get into ANY trouble while he was MSU, not a single incident. As if 1) that's something to be proud and not expected and 2) that absolves him completely. Just like Tyreek Hill, this guy is an incident waiting to happen. Just like I said with that shitheel the Bengals took last year, if the Packers draft him it's whatever, I don't have to cheer for him, but I hope they don't.

Have you watched the video? Can't hit a woman like that.

EDIT: Well put, GD. Excatly.

Yep, last year anyway. Fant was more sure-handed in 2017. Last year it always seemed to me like he was just putting in his time until he got to the next level. He would flash every 3 games or so and then disappear again. Some of that was defenses keying on him but there was less of that later in the season and teams were paying more attention to Hockenson.

Aside from 1 big reception in the Purdue game he was basically a no show in November. Then of course sat out the bowl game. Hock got the ball 18 times in November and played in the Outback Bowl.

If the Packers draft Hock and use him like the Niners use Kittle he could be really special. Fant will end up as another Jimmy Graham WR playing TE guy.

After the 1st 5-6 players, then someone could go 6th or they could go 36th. There are no great CBs like Revis or even Alexander,  no great WRs like Odel Beckhams or even Jordy Nelson, no great Offensive tackles-heck Bulaga would be top 10 in this draft,  no great QBs, no great running backs. In 5 years this may go down as having a few good players but no great players.

Relax - he has Seattle written all over him

What about Greedy?

Tough crowd. Nobody is condoning his actions.

I'm genuinely curious... do you guys think he should be banned from pursuing a career in the NFL based on that incident?  What price should he pay and for how long?

I like the Arcega-Whiteside as well.

I'd love to see Hockenson fall to 12 but I'm not feeling that.

Brooks latest mock has GB taking Marquise Brown at 12 and Drew Lock at 30.  That would not excite me.

5 great players in this draft. Hock is one of them.

Who are your others?

At 12, I'd be pretty damn happy with Hockenson, Devin Bush, Jonah Williams, Montez Sweat or J. Taylor.

If GB hits on a T, they will have the best T tandem in the league.

I'd love Devin Bush at MLB. A true difference maker at MLB would be something our team hasn't seen in a long time.

I'm glad to hear that. Now we know it will never happen

If the Pack uses #30 & #44 they could get as high as #14 with Atlanta

If the Pack uses #30 & #75 that puts them right around Pitt at #20 & Seattle at #21

I would love that move - Now THAT is maximizing value

One thought I can't shake is that I don't see how anyone who thinks the Packers ought to draft a WR high is implying that drafting any in the later rounds is likely not really worth it.

To me it's saying doing so is a waste of time and selections at those later rounds ought to be for other positions, such as guard.

Or do such people think Gute swung and missed on all three selections last year?
