How would people feel about something like this:

12: Brian Burns OLB Florida State - Rotational guy to start but pure burst off the edge.

30: Noah Fant TE Iowa - The way this works out, Fanst is one of the slot guys this season.

44. Nasir Adderly S Delaware - Free Safety with corner cover skills.

75: Isaiah Johnson CB Houston - Long corner with surprising agility but still a bit raw.

114: Khalen Saunders DL Western Illinois - Athletic bowling ball who is short, but can bring it inside.

118: Myles Boykin - WR  Notre Dame - Seems to fit the mold of Packers receivers and a great value here.

150: Marvell Tell II S USC - Long, athletic safety with press corner skills

185: Tony Pollard RB Memphis - Offensive toy, not as natural a pass catcher as Darren Sproles but can do a lot of the same things, has speed and quickness and is a good kick returner.

194 John Cominsky OLB Charleston - Small school pass rusher to add depth

226: Trey Pipkins - OT Sioux Falls - Another small school guy who appears to fit the mold the Packers want.

+ It would add talent, versatility and depth to numerous defensive positions and add potential playmakers on offense. Adds two cover men with length should King get hurt again or for match ups.

- Doesn't add a true slot receiver or add much to the offensive line. With the secondary help it still likely relies on Jaire Alexander playing well for the entire season.

From NFL Network:

The Iowa TEs both go in the top 10 and Ed Oliver is gone at pick 5. Brian Burns is still available at the end of this one round mock draft.

The NFL Mock Draft Live shows are generally a joke, though, and I don't bother watching them any more. They do stuff on there that's the opposite of what they've been writing.

Maybe it's because he's a Semihole, but Boo-urns reminds me of Jamal Reynolds.

I feel exactly the same way.  I saw him on a pre-draft show and the dude looks skinny.  He talked about bulking up to 250 and he still looked like an NBA point guard.  But, I will admit I have never seen him play so maybe he really is a stud pass rusher but I worry about him getting pushed around.

Burns write up from McGinns draft series-he is 5th rated edge player

5. BRIAN BURNS, Florida State (6-5, 242, 4.60, 1): Third-year junior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “He’s got a basketball body,” said one scout. “Has a legitimate chance to be one of those up-down guys. A rusher on third down and play as an off-the-ball linebacker. He can drop and cover. Ran like a scalded dog.” Played at just 215 pounds in 2015 and in the low 230s last year. Bulked up to 249 for the combine but was down to 242 at pro day not long thereafter. “He’s better coming out as a pass rusher than Leonard Floyd,” said a second scout. “More productive. Got a more natural knack for it. You’re checking the pass-rush box with him. Somebody will probably take a chance. It might be late 1.” Finished with 123 tackles (38 ½) for loss, 23 sacks and seven forced fumbles. Arms were 33 7/8, hands were 10. Resisted some efforts to increase his weight at FSU. “The weight obviously was manufactured for the combine,” said a third scout. “I think he plays in the 235 range. He’s just not that big of a guy. You’re going to get bounced around a lot if he’s 235, 240. He’s very nimble as a pass rusher. He’s got some bend to him. He’s got a nice spin move inside. He can work the edge. He’s a six, seven, eight sack guy.” Wonderlic of 22. “Not very tough or physical,” said a fourth scout. “Weak against the run. He’s got to win with his get-off. After that he doesn’t have moves and isn’t strong. Doesn’t have finish. He’s an athlete, not a football player.

IMO. There are 5 “can’t miss” picks in this draft.

Quinnen Williams. No quit in this guy. Mike Daniels 2.0

Hockenson. Does everything you want a TE to do. Perfectly.

Devin White. Better version of CJ Mosley.

Kyler Murray. Charles Woodson if Charles played offense. Nothing this kid can’t do on a football field. Little body version of Bo Jackson. Can hit for power the other way with gold glove potential.

Dalton Risner. Stuffed Jebediah would be concerned with this kids insane desire to block people.

Feeling like a kid in a Candy Store. Packers get a good player if they stay at 12.

Good as gone (no, not in this exact order Herschel ) :

  1. QB
  2. QB - hopefully a dipshit 3rd "QB crazed team" makes this even better
  3. Bosa
  4. Q.Williams
  5.  J. Allen

Packers can draft one of these players if they stay at 12

  • Ed Oliver (prob gone)
  • Devin White (Prob gone)
  • Hockenson
  • Devin Bush
  • B. Burns - Aldon Smith with a brain ?? Jason Taylor ??
  • OL : J. Williams / Taylor / Dillard / Ford
  • Clemson Fatty (C.Wilkens / D. Lawrence/ C. Ferrell)
  • **M. Sweat - Did teams really remove him from their boards ??

Not too many guys on that list I would have a problem with. I believe C Ferrell is too much like guys already on the roster(Smith Bros) with so many other needs.

Gonna be Gute !!!

A no for me in the first round

NFLN just had a spot on Josh Rosen.  The belief is that Arizona drafts KM #1 overall and will look to trade Rosen. The feeling was that a 3rd round pick might do it and that GB would be a very good landing place for him.  Apparently Rodgers and Rosen have some kind of a professional relationship.

Hockenson could be better than Gronkowski ever was. I think, with Rodgers as his QB, Hockenson's ceiling would be almost limitless. I'd be ecstatic with Hockenson at #12 and Risner at #30.

"Professional".

I'm betting Bosa falls to 9 or 10, or even lower. I don't see what everyone sees in Bosa. He had limited playing time so I don't see how anyone can make a performance based rating on Bosa if he wasn't playing much. Pedigree, maybe? I don't know, but I see him being one of this draft's biggest fallers.  I'm hoping not, for the Packer's sake, as many players would have to move up the board to take Bosa's spot.

Hock is probably off the board at 7-8. Everyone has done an admirable job of smoke screening him. But his value is starting to come out.

And **** all of it.

Don't you oppress me. If I want Hock I should get Hock.

His racist Tweets make him invaluable. I think he should fall to us at 12.

Perhaps we should see him progress in the league before we anoint him better than a 1st ballot HOFer?

I love me some hock too. That doesn’t sound right.

I don't think he makes it to 12. Media in western NY believe the Bills will grab him.

Agree on Hock, likely gone by 12, although if he were there I think that would be the pick. Regarding Rosen, thought I just read recently in Zach Cruse story that (per Mike Silver) the Packers were not interested in trading for Rosen. Since the manure is really flying now, it's hard to know whether this has any merit at all. So I guess it could happen.

Gronk had the perfect system and QB and the stars aligned for his performance. . his 40 time is similar to Hocks. 4.68 to Hocks 4.70. Meanwhile HOF TE Tony Gonzalez ran a 4.49 40. Wish Hock was faster. Fant tho ran a 4.50 40. but also drops 10% of his passes. No perfect Tight End but between those Hock and Fant i would want Hock.

A lot of the twitter chatter from guys who do a lot of player analysis are not billing Hock as the next Gronk.  Closer to Gonzalez/Kelce which is still perennial all-pro but not at Gronk's level.  Still worth #12?  I don't know.  I get the desire for sticking with OL/DL in RD1 but the concern I would have is whether there is an OL worthy @#12 if he's there.  And if there is a run on DL before 12.  12 could be a tough spot if you're looking for an elite talent Thursday.

I get more of a Jason Witten vibe from Hock than a Rob Gronkowski. If we picked him and he came close to either player I would be happy.

Interesting you should say that GD. I've been using Whitten as a comparison for Hock while watching him play at Iowa the past 2 years..

Hawks must've wanted to get one spot in front of Green Bay
