Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
I just made my annual call looking for Sunday Ticket discounts. The first person I spoke with offered a reduced price of 6 payments of $50.99 as opposed to the regular price of $59.99. This is for Sunday Ticket Max. She also applied a $10/month discount for 6 months. I said this wouldn't be enough for me to keep the NFL package and she transferred me to the retention department. The woman in the retention department tried to get me to bundle some other services (Internet, cell phone) to save...

They don't do bloody chasers outside the Midwest. Can't tell you how many times I have been judged as degenerate alcoholic for ordering a beer back. Plus, to add insult to injury, they make you pay full price for it.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
My first chaser was a kielbasa. I was on an overnight train from St. Petersburg to Riga, and after a shot of vodka it was a choice of that or some horrid carbonated beverage. (I'm the freak who doesn't like carbonated beverages.) My first hangover was also in Russia; that was an interesting experience.

F them. I not too many years ago I was in Cali and asked for french dressing. The girl looked at me like I was an idot and, yes actually ASKED, why I would put ketchup on my salad. She didn't get a good tip.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
I made my call as I'm no longer under contract and with a competing offer in-hand as well as the carrot of adding high-speed internet to my package. What did they offer in return? Not a damned thing. They wouldn't even match the price or the gift card with much slower internet speed, no transfer to a retention rep, either. I politely told her what she could do with her service and she just said they have great re-connect offers. **** DirecTV.

My bill lost discounts this month so it went from $65 a month to $125. I called to disconnect, they restored some of the discounts (down to $95) and gave me free NFL Sunday ticket. I had gone the last two seasons without it....

I called last week & got ST Max for free...again with very little resistance. I do believe it matters which CSR you get. Call back until you get one that helps

This Sunday is Directv's "free preview weekend". They do show all the games or just Max or the red zone? My 2 years is up and I am going to call to see if I can get a deal or cancel if they don't. If they show the games Sunday then I'll wait until Monday to call.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
Yeah, a retention rep called me back a couple of days later, but I've already taken the Comcastsucks deal, which is okay as they gave me a solid price and have much better internet speeds.

I called last week and they offered me a $50 credit each month for 12 months.

Went on their click to chat site last night. They gave us $25 off the ticket over the next 24 months. Lots of canned responses. "you're the type of customer that makes my job enjoyable" came over twice. directv not for pussies.

I canceled 3 years ago and I still get mail from them every other week with offers. They're relentless.

We called to cancel our service in July, as we were doing more streaming any way, and our contract was up. They didnt offer much, a few bucks a month. Went ahead and canceled. Got a call the next day, and they got me. Free max ST, choice package, pay channels free for 6 month, and $200 bucks! got my first bill with the new plan and discounts, $93.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
Their math is a little strange, but I got the same deal as Toofless except no $200 bucks. I was only going to not get 4-5 games as close as I could tell. Now it is much more reasonable (both the standard programming and ST).

I thought of filling my mouth with marbles, calling DTV, and ask for a discount due to a recently suffered stroke. But that's exactly the kind of thing on Karmas radar. So I decided against it. I don't even own marbles. Leave me alone Karma.

same reason I never lied about a death in the family to get out of work during college year jobs. always married another one off - much more positive and they're glad to see you take off.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
Well I just got through with my annual call to them, certainly worth the 30 minutes I spent with them. I got ST Max for 6 payments of $45.99, then they gave me $50 per month off for 12 months and when I pushed a little harder they also gave me another $30 per month off for the next 6 months. Not bad at all.

What! I guess I need to call to piss and moan. I got the streaming package for xbox since my old address couldn't get Directv.

Maybe not on the streaming package but for people with an actual dish & receiver it's free this first Sunday

That's encouraging. No ****ing video but they are "working hard to resolve the issue". Sounds like freebies for me.

Called DirecTV today. I demanded free Sunday Ticket, and they offered me a bill credit that they said would have raised my bill by $4 a month after adding Sunday Ticket Max. I already pay $128 a month to these jokers, for mostly garbage. I told them to cancel my service. **** them.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
DirecTV called me back this morning to offer me 3 months of HBO and Showtime, and claimed to have no record of our conversation yesterday. Yeah, that will make me stay.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
At $128/mo, I pay DirecTV $1,536 a year, even though I rarely watch anything but football and baseball. The plan now is to just buy NFL Game Pass and MLB.tv and watch them with a streaming device like Roku or Chromecast. With a good VPN, you can get all of the games live, regardless of where you live. NFL Game Pass is $199 if you buy it with a Brazilian IP address, and MLB.tv was $110 at the start of this season. Big savings coming my way.

I got another call back from them. My bill is at $84.91 (before taxes) for one year and I got free Sunday Ticket Max. Watching Red Zone right now.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
Walk away like I did. They will give you shares in the company. Watching Sunday Ticket FREE, free HBO, Starz and Showtime..., $44 bucks off my bill every month and they will send me a $200 gift card to boot.

Told you guys before....It's a subscription. If they don't have any subscribers, they can't charge as much for advertising. Why are we paying for TV that has ADs? It's a game.....play the game.

I finally called, they gave Sunday Ticket Max for half price, $50.00 a month off my bill for 12 months and the 4k Genie upgrade. I can live with that.

Just became a cord cutter. Yes, canceled my Directv service. The deals they offer you after the fact is pretty impressive, but I'm done with cable. Too much time sitting on our asses staring at the boob makes us all "fat, drunk, and stupid".

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
My contract is up Sept. 1 and I'm debating whether to stay if they give me a sweet deal w/ Sunday Ticket, premium channels, etc. like they did last time my contract was up, or taking the Comcast deal. We need high-speed internet, so if they come up with the right package, I'll stay, but otherwise just take the internet w/ extremely basic cable package.

Re: 2016 NFL Ticket...
I'm going to call DTV in August and raise all manner of discontent and injustice. I'll get another discount. Probably down to $215. There are 11 games I probably miss without the Ticket on the west coast. That's $20/week to not miss a 2016 snap. I'm in. Bonus of being able to watch Teddy Bridgewater prove he really isn't the answer at QB is my 5 months of free HBO.

The Red Zone Channel is my crack cocaine. $300 annually for drugs (and free Packer games) is pretty reasonable...
