Re: Positives and negatives
Positives: We have a very talented team, we have a HOF QB (that is in a slump), good young talent at WR with Ty Montgomery, Randall Cobb, Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson (for another year or so) and Trevor Davis. One of the best offensive lines in the league. There is a question at TE, hopefully Jarred Cook can get healthy but not much after him. Rodgers can catch the ball but blocks worse than I do. Eddie Lacy when healthy if a credible threat a RB and Rip is improving at FB. On Defense we have...

Re: Positives and negatives
Gotta believe Philbin helped quite a bit yesterday. He knows McCarthy better than almost anyone as far as the coaching mindset. Goes beyond that though, McCarthy has had over a year of evidence that his offense has been figured out by NFL opponents. Adapt or go home. As far as the game yesterday, the offense and special teams were brutal, but the thing that pisses me off (almost as much as the stagnant offense) is the lack of pressure created by the defense. Colt opponents have been feasting...

No sir, if anything it was worse. The dagger was just when the defense finally makes a stop and we are supposed to get the ball back down "only" by 13, Daniels gets an Unsporstmanlike Conduct penalty to keep the drive alive. Titans scored a play or 2 later to go up by 20 late in the 3rd quarter and you could tell it was over at that point. A putrid ending to a putrid performance. Before that, the Titans made the defense look like high schoolers and the offense looked like granny did in fact...

+ got to see packers in my hometown and in person. good packer fan attendance for tailgating and in the stadium. great pregame flyover and tribute to 101st airborne. - listen to local sports radio for next week! team plays with no passion, seems like this team takes for granted to be on field and in packer uniform, no passion or pride. couple of other observations: during the national anthem, cobb and nelson assisted the solders in holding the flag. while titans players were all in a single...

very cool. we're staying at AKL. spent sunday afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon and saw 2 guys with Packer hats. after the score popped up on my phone, I didnt even feel like engaging with the other poor chaps. zero energy or excitement throughout the whole organization and fans. just a stale operation that needs a shake-up and much cutting of dead weight

Sunset. People don't stand around looking at a sunrise. They want to get going. Most people will stop and have a beer watching the end of the day. That being said, if it's a Packers Sunset - it might indicate that darkness will soon be on the horizon. I look at it that it represents the sun is setting on the recent Packer woes...tomorrow is another day and hope is on the way. All we have to do is win the division. I don't think a Wild Card spot will be available this year. But the division...

Re: The Ugly, The Bad ...and the Good?
The good: Once again, a lot of individual players having good performances that amount to nothing in the end. Spriggs was probably the nicest surprise. The bad: Anything and everyone that has any connection to our current defense. To say that we have been decimated by injury would be an understatement. And we have guys playing hurt who have no business being on the field, but they are put out there to trot around the best they can simply because there's nobody else available. Our veterans,...

I say this with all due respect, when GD, possibly the last Green and Gold kool ade drinker on the site starts to see what others have been pointing out for a while it says volumes. GD is a Packer fan extraordinaire and knows his team and football.

Re: The Invisible Man known as Ted Thompson
Don't care whether Ted talks to the media or not. He didn't give them anything when he was hitting on drafts, and he hasn't given them anything while he has been missing on drafts. I do hope that the Packer brass (Board of Directors, Murphy, etc...) take a close look at how Ted has performed recently. Why has the draft success dropped off ? Is it the loss of John Dorsey, JohnShnieder, Reggie McKenzie, etc... ? Why have they drafted so many players from the PAC 12 lately ? They haven't...

Re: I am starting to get excited about our top 10 draft pick next spring
The Packer 2016 Draft Shopping List: 1) A remake of the TE position. (3 picks) 2) Durable RBs who can make people miss. (2 picks) 3) A WR that combines both speed and quickness (1 pick) 4) Another OL who can replace Barclay (1 pick) 5) A couple CBs who combine speed with size and don't get injured every 4.2368 tackles. (2 picks) 6) A guy whose every dream is about decking every NFL QB on game day - and has the size, speed, talent, and will to make it happen. (1 pick) That is 10 draft picks.

+ Packers relentlessly punished Wilson and kept him uncomfortable in the pocket. Elliott and Lowry both deserve more snaps. Packers were the more physical team and visibly frustrated the Seahawks. - Injuries continue. Scoreboard forced Seattle to abandon it, but the Packer rushing defense wasn't good enough (Rawls 12-67 ).

Re: Are you "feeling it" NOW? +/- Seahawks WIN!
Losing Earl Thomas is the equivalent of losing Nick Collins. It took the Packer defense years to recover from losing Collins (I would argue that if he would have stayed healthy, they probably win at least another Super Bowl). As someone said, Chancellor is a great safety in run support (one of the best I've ever seen), but the reason he lasted until the 5th round of the draft is that he runs a 4.69 40. Here were his weaknesses according to NFL.com when he was drafted: Earl Thomas covers up...

I brought up trading A Rod last year, probably something like a 1st and 2nd rounder. Still uncertain on Huntley, but he has not had enough reps to be sure, I feel that something is pretty good with Huntley. Trade Rodgers, fire Capers and get Sanjay Beach to write Packer blogs.

Good read from Silverstein on the potential Wolf/TT decision awaiting Murphy this offseason. While most of it has been discussed - TT's recent struggles/age and demand for Wolf - there was a factor brought up I hadn't considered. The Titletown district is perhaps the team's biggest business venture yet, and it starts opening next season. The powers that be might be less patient to wait out a downturn in play than any point in Packer history. http://www.packersnews.com/sto...mpson-wolf/94347888/

I expected Bucky might get beat tonight, but I thought it would be like the U of M or Ohio State game. A close, hard-fought game. The Badgers defense morphed into the 2016 GB Packer defense in the second half. Unless PSU makes a mistake, they have no chance to stop them. PSU hasn't even had to convert a third down the last 3 drives. It's been just pathetic.

Steve, your video debut is eloquent and you're clearly comfortable in front of the camera, fantastic job representing Packer Nation. If you did that all in one take, its even more impressive. Steve. Epic beyond words. However, the contrarian in me (thanks to Fedya as my senei) needs to share that as an amateur Packer historian one "correction" needs to be made in your talk. The team did actually change colors---a few times in the 50's to be honest.

This whole Zimmerman says one thing and the DBs did another is mind blowing. And the fact that Zimmer was right to say "stop Jordy", as evidenced by the second half slow down of the offense, makes it doubly mind blowing. How can that happen on an NFL team in the 21st century???? The pass rush was the difference in the second half. Then they turned down the heat at the end. The Packer CBs are truly completely lost. It's unthinkable how poorly these guys play week after week. 700+ yards of...

And had the Packers ended up traveling to Seattle there would have articles and columns about the playoff choke there. Recent Packer/NYG playoff history at Lambeau is admittedly ugly but it's a new game and that hubris isn't warranted.

I agree with Boris's thoughts on this one. This is the type of game I worry about someone who hasn't done much for the Giants doing his best "Hoover" impression and going nuts on the Packers D. My pick is Victor Cruz to go nuts. I do think the Packers offense can score some on the Giants D but the absolute key is the pass rush. When I was at the Lions game there was one constant is that they got pressure on Stafford and that threw them off their game. The Packers CANNOT allow Eli to sit back...

The Mighty Green Bay Packers are tied for 6th in the NFL in sacks and sack percentage. Its been a real mix of guys so far, 12 different Packer defenders have recorded a sack this year, including rookie 5-tech, Dean Lowry The one piece missing lately is the safety blitz /corner cat. And those have dropped off due to all the injuries at CB, so the Safeties have to stay deep and baby sit. Stated another way, there are 25 other NFL teams that wish they could rush the passer as well as the 2016...

Regarding your disappointment with the pass rush, I post the below from Satori, 2 days ago in this thread. As for your shootout comment, the NYG have 3 games of 27 pts and 1 game of 28 pts. They score in the teens, a lot - they have games of 16, 10, 16, 17, 14, 10, 17, 19, & 19. The Packers have avg'd over 30 ppg over their 6 game Run the table™

Re: Giants coffee talk
Eli is an average to slightly above average QB who's had a couple good postseason runs. NYG defense is very good but see the potent Packer offense scoring just enough that the anemic Giant offense can't match.

No matter what happens today, I want to go on record as saying that I'm proud of this team and what they have done since going 4-6. I was one of those who was calling for a clean slate (I'm sure someone can dig up my old posts if needed). I was calling for a lose out the rest of the season to improve draft status. I am enjoying my crow. I've browned it a little and thrown it into a great roux. I'm serving it as kind of an etouffe over some dirty rice. I figured a cajun theme would be nice.
