So who is your early front-runner for our first pick?

I'm a highly successful businessman.  I only make change for gigacoins.

It's kind of fun to do a roster purge mock on First Pick when they're throwing a number of fairly lopsided trade proposals at you and take advantage of a couple of guys they have way too low on their list, Like Dillard and Adderly.

Round 1 Pick 15 (WASH): Allen, Josh, OLB, Kentucky (A+)
Round 2 Pick 4 (S.F.): Abram, Johnathan, FS, Mississippi State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 17 (CLE): Bryant, Austin, DE, Clemson (A+)
Round 2 Pick 28 (LAC): Okwuegbunam, Albert, TE, Missouri (A)
Round 3 Pick 11: Benzschawel, Beau, OG, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 3 Pick 27 (LAC): Gardner-Johnson, Chauncey, FS/SS, Florida (A)
Round 3 Pick 28 (CLE): Winovich, Chase, DE, Michigan (A+)
Round 3 Pick 29 (JAX): Rapp, Taylor, SS, Washington (A)

Round 4 Pick 31 (BUF): Blackmon, Julian, CB, Utah (A+)
Round 5 Pick 12: Sagapolu, Olive, DT, Wisconsin (A+)

Basically half the roster, LoL.

wow, that's moving for sure.  imagine if they drafted that many guys, i would be shaking if i was on the roster today...chase winovich is intriguing, but i think its just the hair - he got blown up quite a few times when i watched mi from time to time, but he sure does look like a younger 52 with the hair...lol

Teen summer training camp.  They'd have to hire counselors and chaperones.

Yes - I have Megathereum

I'd take Iowa TE T.J. Hockenson before Fant. Reminds me of a Whitten type of TE. Kid has great hands, knows how to find holes in the D to get open and he's a better athlete than you think. I don't recall him ever being hurt either. Not quite as fast as Fant but that's about the only drawback.

I agree. On a team with two really good TEs only one was really productive and that was Hockenson. Where did Fant go? Was he doubled? I don't think so. I also think his hands are iffy. If they are Rodgers would never throw to him.

I expect a huge off season of talent acquisition between FA and the draft. This is the most excited I’ve been in several years.

Who do you expect to show up in the free agent market?

I’d love to see Earl Thomas in GB.

Great player but 30 years old next season and season ending injuries 2 out of the last 3 years . We could have a pool on what he will break next.

GM that signs him better be careful.

Jerry Jones call on line 1 !!!!

And a guy whose game is based on his great speed - especially for his position. If he loses a step or two, he'll decline very fast.

Lacks range. Everything is deep with him.

And the most annoying thing is he’ll always be walking around saying “THIS is CNN!”

Here's a scenario: Green Bay is on the clock with Polite and Burns rated as top 15 players and pass rushers have gone heavy early with Bosa, Allen, Ferrell and Sweat have gone early, leaving those two as your only pass rushers left as probable immediate starters.

However, Josh Jacobs, who is rated top-5, is still on the board and your only trade down offers are to where all three will be gone.

Who do you take?

Trade down - then back up acquiring another 1st in 2020 to draft whoever is left.

Get value & keep acquiring draft capital.

Both guys are rated as value for the pick, it's just the one guy you had rated higher is at a short-lived position that also isn't a need. By trading down below that tier you lose value.

Draft capital is great, but at some point you gotta just pick quality football players that have the production that meets the pre-draft hype.

Another 1st round like the Raji/Matthews draft would be excellent.

Or, how would you feel about this one as far as value:

Two trades back early (Washington gives up their 1 & 2 for Haskins at 12, Jacksonville gives up their 2 & 3 for Lock at 32.

1. Brian Burns EDGE Florida State (Polite goes to Atlanta in between)

2a. Dalton Risner OL Kansas State (probable starter at RG Day 1, missed on Cody Ford in trade back)

2b. Andre Dillard OL Washington State (Primary backup to both tackles until Bulaga gets hurt, the choice was between he and David Edwards)

2c. Nasir Adderly DB Delaware (can play corner or safety)

3a. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson DB Florida (reminds me of Nick Collins)

3b. TJ Hockenson TE Iowa (target upgrade)

4a. Sutton Smith EDGE Northern Illinois

4b. Max Sharping OL Norther Illinois

5. Tyree Jackson QB Buffalo (tall, big-armed prospect)

6a. Tony Pollard RB/WR Memphis (jitterbug player)

6b. Olive Sagapolu DT Wisconsin (Big man who can move, picked over Darrion Daniels DT Oklahoma State)

7. Joe Giles-Harris LB Duke (potential special teams ace)

they already have 10 pics. Dont need a roster full of newbies. Use free agency and the 10 pics they have and hopefully use those to move up and take better quality players. Hopefully they get at least four good players in this draft.

Good players are available in rounds 1 through 7 - finding those players & selecting them is the hard part.

Any one of us on the forum could draft selections 1-10 - it's after that where a GM makes his money & it's all about knowing where a player is slotted by the other 31 teams.
