Who should be first in line for a new deal during this season? What's the order of importance?

As I was looking through our list of future free agents, I noticed there are some big ones coming up soon. Last report I saw said we have a little over 11 million in cap space right now, so we have the money to throw some up-front money at guys.

Who gets priority? Greg Jennings and TJ Lang are going to be free agents after this season. Lang has no back-up right now and we're going to also be losing Donald Driver next offseason so if we lost Jennings we would be down to Nelson, Jones, and Cobb. I saw one article, I think it was Packer Update, saying they didn't think the Packers would give Lang a bunch of money because Thompson wouldn't want 2 high paid Guards.

Then again, Thompson will have to pinch his pennies next offseason if he wants to re-sign some of the talent that will be in contract years next year. It wouldn't be unheard of for a guy like Clay Matthews or BJ Raji to hold out rather than play on 1 year deals. You solve that by re-signing them early. We will be in the same Finley drama next offseason that we were this offseason if we don't re-sign him early. And what about Johnny Kuhn, if that guy holds out then we are screwed!

My opinion on the order of importance:

Re-sign Mid-season:
1. Jennings - He's a great player we don't have an adequate replacement right now
2. CM3 - Reliable and productive and, like Aaron Rodgers, won't make ridiculous demands IMO

Re-sign 2013 offseason:
3. TJ Lang - Wait and see if he truly is a starting Guard or just a 1 year wonder
4. B.J. Raji - I anticipate him wanting a contract before training camp
5. Morgan Burnett - See how 2012 goes and see how our other Safetys progress

Re-sign 2013 mid-season:
6. James Starks - Wait to answer questions about health
7. John Kuhn - See if you can find a replacement but I bet you can't
